Since no one has done a UCI thread here i go. Let’s help each other out with questions, stats, or concerns. Let’s get this thread going. Good luck everyone
You should just put it in UC transfers…I think more people visit there
I like that it’s here personally just link the other one, people are likely to look here as often if not more often for this kinda stuff. My situation is that I’m a re entry student who gets really good grades now, but wasn’t a good student in the past … I have kept current with the rep for uci at my cc and just had my personal statements reviewed by her and got the green light. I could only get my GPA up to like a 3.1 or 3.2. I’m getting an AAT in psychology and am looking at the PSB program for uci. I’m a long shot with my gpa, but I do have some other unique advantages and I will stay current with you fellow hopeful alumni.
Major: Business Administration
I add that I am a 1 year transfer: Graduated out of high school last year. My high school grades were terrible and I was caught up with the wrong type of crowd, and did drugs (Never got caught, however). I ended up with a REALLY low gpa in highschool, maybe borderline 2.2…
I am also diagnosed with ADHD, also happened late in my Junior year. Which was around the time when I got fed up with the teachers because they would treat me as a person suffering from a disease and could not do the things that “regular” people could so I started to dual enroll both in highschool and in college concurrently in my Junior year as a personal vendetta to prove them wrong.Took on average 3 classes each semester (Max I could take in HS) despite my counselor doubting me and telling me I couldn’t handle it.
GPA: =3.5-3.6 (Low… I know. But If all goes well, It might bump up a little in the winter and spring)
I currently take around 6 classes which is around 20+ credits and will take 2 courses in the winter and 6 again in the spring to complete my 1 year transfer.

-Volunteering at Project Neo (Tutoring for HS/Elementary students) Also couple hours per week if I had the time
-Aids WALK volunteer for the past 3 years (Delineator)

-Phi Theta Kappa (A Honors Society based around CC’s)

Reading this, I know my chances are fairly low but one can only hope… How do I stand against the admissions?
@Samuelho7 I think you’re doing extremely great…but I heard Business Admin is a reaaally tough major to get into at Irvine. Correct me if I’m wrong.
@Hafmanhafmazin You’re not wrong haha. I know I need to get my GPA up for sure, this semester will either make or break my GPA since I’m taking around 23+ units. I really hope I can stand up to the competition.
