UCI or CSUF?

So I applied to both schools with a major under Humanities. Although, I am not sure about staying with this major and am probably going to end up changing it. I know with UCI I will be able to change it to undeclared after submitting SIR.

I am having trouble choosing between the two because, yes I got into a UC, but I’m worried about the money especially since I am undecided. CSUF looks like a good school, although for some reason my cal grant isn’t listed under the financial aid…which i’ll have to find out why. I know it’ll depend on me in the end. I’ve visited UCI and its nice, just the thought of the money and the fact that its research based kind of intimidates me… I’m weary if I should go for the UC. Any suggestions?

UCI!!! UC’s have more prestige and it’s so much easier to switch majors/transfer to another UC if you wanted to. If you choose CSUF, you’re stuck there. UC’s also have more student support and activities! It’s worth it to go there. People hiring tend to choose the more well known college which would be UCI in your case. TRUST ME ON THIS! Although it seems intimidating, it’s not really. It’s an amazing school!

I would tend to pick UCI for general humanities majors, but either are a valid choice depending on what you want to do. But can you copy and paste the financial aid packages for the 2 school, perhaps we could give some insight. Usually UCs give better aid. Also the Ca Grant seems to just show up on one choice. If you choose another school the Cal Grant will be in your final award package. But you won’t get the same amount at CSU as at UC. CSU is $5,472 and UC is $12,192.

I would not worry about an exact major yet. You have gen eds to fulfill and that will give you time to think about it and talk to students and go to advising. While being in a college setting will hopefully give you some insights.

yeah for csu’s i got $5,472 and for uc got $12,804 plus a $2,687 grant. so i’m going to be paying quite an amount either way

Please copy and paste the package and COA, are you dorming either way?

This is from their websites. yeah i think I’m going to to be dorming since i’m not that close to these schools, may do apartment, but most likely dorm.

In my opinion CSUF, is good for students looking for a great business school and wanting to pay at a lower price.
