i think UCI has a better mechanical engineering because Irvine is known for their engineering programs .. so i would pick Irvine.. and to answer ur other question.. i dont really noe.. i dont do much research .. so sorry.. but good luck picking!

ooh, i know for a fact that davis has good agriculture and biological sciences, but i don't know much about Irvine or Davis engineering so, still looking for some more info

davis has better sciences? i heard irvine did.

my friend takes engineering at davis and he's excelling...lol i know that doesn't answer your question. but anyways i think Irvine is known more for engineering.

Seriously irvine does NOT have a better engineering program than davis. Irvine is ranked 50 overall for undergrad engineering as compared to 28 for davis. Davis is ranked 25th for Mechanical engineering as compared to NOTHING for UCI.

oh wow.. davis is pretty good at engineering..

i thought davis was more like FARM and AGRICULTURE and biology.

now i have a dilemma

i like irvine because im asian, and i like the city like surroundings down in orange county.. i don't like the small college town at davis . but now davis has better engineering soo ahhh

Dude!!! Davis for sure, I got accepted and I am gonna go. I heard you can hear the cows moooooooo at night, and I just think that is way cool. I doonno know about you, but I kindda like middle in the nowhere places. NO polution, away from the city, I just love that. It is just diffrent. Davis for sure!!!

LOL yah that rocks! at the intial thought of cows, you would think that cow tipping would be lots of fun as well, but if you think a lil harder, cow tipping totally sucks for the cows. I hope there are lots of fun things to do at Davis...

Hah. I live in Sacramento (about 15-20 minutes [driving] away from Davis) and am seriously contemplating of going to UCD. One of the main "con" on my pro/con list for UCD is that it's in the middle of nowhere. I go there a lot to visit friends, and everytime I'm on campus I feel so.. trapped. First-years are not allowed to have cars, but a lot of people have biked from Davis all the way to Sacramento. From what I've heard, the campus itself is actually quite nice. The students are generally very friendly. The academics (especially in engineering, agriculture, and graduate-level med [don't know about premed]) are strong. Personally, the only thing that seems bad to me is the location.

Well, davis is a small college town...being middle of nowhere its what makes it unique but if you didn't notice we are two hours away from tahoe..soo skiing is real convenient. Irvine its more city like but the campus is ughhh. SB is a college town too but they party alot.

People at davis are more friendly and "mellow" in a sense. You don't go to a college to PARTY LIKE MAD (well most don't)...you party and play only SOMETIMES. Davis provides a place for you to study hard and to get a good education.
