Hi, I’m currently a Sophomore at the University of the Pacific, and I wanted to take my organic chemistry requirements down in SoCal near home (and somewhere not at rigorous as the science classes here). I was wondering what the organic chemistry classes are like at both UCI and UCR, and which would be the better choice?
UCI duh. It’s ranked higher.
Unless your aiming for an elite med-school it will irrelevant. Go with whichever has the better professor.
If you are not considering med-school, why not take it a community college and save some money? I believe there is at least one OC school that offers O-chem over the summer.
I agree with above poster @SDGoldenBear: Take it at a CCC instead of the another UC. Since you are not an enrolled UC student, you most likely will not be able to get the class during the summer session. My son tried to take his MicroEcon course for UCD at UCR last summer since he had a job at home. He was unable to get into any classes so he opted for the local CCC.
UCI posts their lectures on YouTube if you want to check them out. It’s how I got through Ochem
