UCI party scene

okay so i have a LOT of questions ...

ive heard a lot of people say that its really boring &blah blah but if there are any parties .. how often are they? &usually where are they? in the dorms?
like, don't they have RA's or something that supervise the dorms?
what if yr coming back drunk, &they suspect yr drunk do you get in trouble?
is the partyscene as bad as ucsd's? lol .......

also ... IF THERE ARE ANY parties ..... haha mmm what kind of people go to them? like .. geeks? or everyone?

is the school of bunch of geeks (not the same as nerds) or is there a wide variety of people?

im used to partying... alot. &sneaking into clubs ... i live 5 min away from tijuana &the legal drinking age is 18 ... but thats a joke hahahah. oh&i also like getting my work done i guess haha.

Uh... you are going to be preety bored at UCI if you like partying. There are not many parties going on at UCI. It is just as bad as UCSD. I have friends that go to UCI and they say it is preety boring. I think it's mainly because everything is enforced too much there. There are cops every block.

Dude, to answer your question, yes, there are parties. The axiom "There is a party every night if you look in the right places" rings true. Lots of 'parties' meaning alcohol will take place in the dorms, yes. Just gotta be cautious because if they RA's catch you then its a write-up and community service. some RA's are chill and dont mind if you come back drunk, others are stricter and will write you up for that. And dude, even geeks do party. Please dont be so ignorant, also, because the school is DIVERSE as you can find it. (Lotta asians, but still, come on, this is a college community, people mingle). my friend is a geek (supersmash pro, latest gaming computer, etc) and we chill and have a couple beers (ah, newcastle is the best) at his place from time to time with my other friends. there are clubs around too, but of course those are no-alcohol or else you seriously get kicked out. of course, fraternities have parties that are always worth checking out, if you're the real party type.
But just remember, work comes before play son

Sigh...the derogative use of "geeks" is annoying. Geeks rule the world moreso than you think. They also can have fun, if not more, than the average joe. More knowledge equals more possibilities right? Think about it.

Exactly, there is nothing better than chilling with some friends and discussing the greater things in life such as education. Sometimes the geekier students have more to say and can engage in stronger conversation. As for parties, they're pretty much tuesday, thursday, and light on saturdays.

uci is one of the worst party schools around...if there are any parties they are very small. no good parites are thrown on weekends either because everyone leaves irvine. if you're looking for a nice quiet town to relax and drink with a couple of buddies than this is the place to be...personally i hate this place

You need to get a car and hitup LA or something haha. I have a friend that goes clubbings 1-2 times a week. Many times it's Thursday too. You should think about joining a fraternity also. The parties are out there if you know the right people. Hell even Circle K has parties.

party in my dorm every night buddy.

thank you for supporting my conclusion even further, he has the party in his dorm which means drinking with a couple of his buddies. because i know there are no such thing as 200 person parties inside a dorm

Who said 200 person parties are fun? There is nothing wrong with a party consisting of around 20-40 ppl...

I rather enjoy being out with 20 buddies over going to a party with 200 people...

Party with 200 people? Where?

In Korea, my parent were too strict to let me go to parties. I want to experience all when I come to California in autumn.

Going out with 20 people is no fun. Need more.

well that guy said dorm party and dorm parties are not actualy parties, not even 20 people, not even 10 people, maybe like 6 buddies drinking together in a room, which equals gay

what party scene?

why would you even want to go to a huge party with more than 200 random people that you dont even know..?
isnt it more fun to hang out and party with your close friends than someone you've never even met

u'd rather hang out w/ ur same old friends you've known your whole life then actually living the college experience and meeting new people? wow...

projectz you're lame. Whats your GPA anyways. bet ur on AP, if you even go to UCI.
But hey, i do party too, you dont need to bash on the others. Drinking hard liquor on the weekends with some girls and guys is pretty fun of course (my hallmate drank 15 shots last weekend, it was pretty 'fun' to take care of her), but hey, if people dont drink, they can have 'fun' too.

But of course, everyone has to try drinking at least ;)

I just hope it is full of energy!! I want an energetic environment. I'm sure there are parts of Irvine that's really really fun. I mean the new Rec center is coming out?? YAHHH Yahhh?!

"well that guy said dorm party and dorm parties are not actualy parties, not even 20 people, not even 10 people, maybe like 6 buddies drinking together in a room, which equals gay"

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL, my thoughts percisely
