Hi! I currently have a 2.74 gpa and I was wondering about my transfer to uci next fall. Uci stated that we need a 2.4 to be eligible for the school, 2.7 to be eligible for the college if social sciences , and a 3.0 to transfer to psychology in the School of Social Sciences. I was wondering which gpa I need to reach in order to transfer as a psychology major. Also, do they review the gpa at the end of the year or the gpa you applied with?
Below is a link with a list of mid-range GPAs by major and campus. UCI psychology has a range of 3.29-3.76. It’s a tough major to get into at all the UCs. Unless you can TAG, you might be better off picking a related major with a lower GPA range— or a lower tier campus (Santa Cruz, Riverside, Merced).

The minimum GPA to TAG Irvine is 3.4:

They look at the GPA up to fall semester of the year you applied in. You can still finish prereqs in the spring but they don’t use the grades for GPA calculation
You might wanna consider staying an extra year to retake classes if you really wanna go to UCI. Idk if you’ll be able to get your GPA up to an acceptable range in one semester
