UCI Question!!

Hello everyone!
So my friend told me that UCI does not accept or reject people by majors. Instead they admit people first, and then look at what type of majors they are interested in. So my friend said if you get rejected it’s not because of your “impacted” major, but because you didn’t get accepted at all. Is this true? Really curious…
Thanks guys!

Every bit of info I’ve found says the same. You are not admitted by major, but to the school as a whole. Then, they will determine whether you are admitted to your first/second choice majors. Failing that I believe you go undecided or unaffiliated or w/e.

Agree also that UCI admits into the University first then into your 1st choice major or alternate major.

Yes, it is true. I have previously called admissions and asked that exact question.
