***UCI RESULTS THREAD 2021***

@notastagemom Congratulations on the favorable admissions decision. What specific date did you hear back on the acceptance?

Does anyone know how competitive the Public Health major is? Next week come the results and I’m nervous as ever…

3/2/17 acceptance for music major.
I don’t know the order or significance of when UCI is contacting candidates.
Got an email in his personal email saying to check the UCI portal for admissions decision.

Admitted with CHP for Physical Sciences/Undeclared

Seeing all you guys’ results makes me nervous!!! But congrats to all of you who got accepted. Does anyone know the order that they are sending acceptance? I’m really freaking out because I haven’t heard anything from any of the UCs.

@SFValleyGirl when did you get accepted? Congrats, by the way!!!

since I didn’t get into UCSD AND UCD…my chances for UCI are nonexistent, aren’t they?

@marshmallow24: No, each UC campus admits based on their own criteria. Your admission results at the other campuses are not indicative your chances at UCI. Each UC admits students that seem to “fit” their idea of a well rounded, diverse student body. You could very well “fit” UCI’s student profile. Wait until all your decisions are in, so do not give up.

My parents are wondering, how many people do you think they’re accepting this year?

@marshmallow24: Most UC’s admit about the same amount of applicants each year and then use the waitlist if they find they are under enrolled.

Last year, UCI had 57,609 applicants and admitted 21,243.

Usually anywhere from 4200-4500 will enroll.
Depending upon the # of applicants this year, they will still admit around 21,000.

85,060 Freshman applicants for Fall 2017 https://news.uci.edu/campus-life/uci-receives-record-setting-100000-applications-for-fall-2017/

Wow. UCLA, UCSD, UCI and then Cal. Now I’m getting worried.

well now i’m nervous

Applications went up by more than 50% this year??? Ok that’s crazy!

The crazy stat is that UCI had the largest increase of all UC campuses in freshman applications (7,274), which is more than the entire size of its 2016 enrolled freshman class. Some majors are going to be very hard to get into, and I expect a larger waitlist due to the “unknown” yield due to the popularity of the school and the large percentages of URM applicants as well.

@Gumbymom It says here ( https://news.uci.edu/press-releases/uci-hits-new-high-with-nearly-98000-applications-for-fall-2016/ ) that UCI received 77,786 freshman apps last year.

Deleted… sorry, wrong thread.
