Hello everyone! I just learned today that UCI now offers a software engineering major!

I am really bummed because I would have tagged that instead of computer science!
Is it too late to change the TAG?

Anyways! I was wondering which major would be less competitive. What are the GPA requirements for each of the majors?

Thanks!

Yes it’s too late, you can apply as a software engineering major (and forfeit TAG). However, you can probably switch into that major after admission, assuming both majors are in the college of engineering.

Actually, software engineering is in the Bren College of ICS (Information Computer Sciences). Since CS and SE are in the same school, I would assume that it would be easy to switch majors once you arrive there.
