I looked and there isn’t a thread for UCI Spring Transfers 2016. Anyone else apply to Spring for UCI? The Application period was only like 15 days long and I went ahead and did it. Just wondering if anyone else submitted one.
@Molisha OP is applying for the Spring of 2016, not the Fall.
I think UCI and Davis are the only schools that take Spring transfers? I’m curious to see how this process works.

Me too, I applied to Fall as well. Then I got an email telling me to apply for Spring if i want, it was free. So I said why not and submitted one for Spring too. Pretty random actually. You just need to have upper level standing to apply.

@oldperson1990 I applied for fall 2016 as well, but I did not get any emails suggesting spring transfer… Just curious, what is your major?
CS. Did you have all prereqs done? They only want upper division.
@oldperson1990 Yup, I would say, I definitely completed more than what UCI requires. I also target UCSD, UCLA, UCB, so I had to take some extra stuff that is not on UCI’s list.
I was researching this over the weekend and came across this list of majors that are not available for spring transfer:

Computer Science and Engineering is one of them, though I personally applied as CS only. Oh, well, fall works for me too

Pre-Reqs: Missing Linear Algebra and 1 CS course
E.C.: Some community service back in high school and a couple months of work experience while in CC. No clubs or anything impressive.
Essay: Personally, I think my essay was okay, but it’s hard to tell since I didn’t have anyone proofread it because I was pinning my hopes on TAG for Fall 2016, so the essay wouldn’t have mattered much, if at all.
I really didn’t expect to get in for Spring, but if your stats are better than mine, which I’m sure most people’s are, then you got a good chance.

Yeah thanks. I was surprised or I thought I was mistaken since UCI said that people will be admitted around early January for Spring 2016 and it’s still December right now…

I got accepted to UCI for Psychology !!! omg so surprised and happy
Congrats! When did they notify you? I was really thinking they would start in early January. Thats what they said haha.
