UCI Student Attempting to Transfer to UCB

Hey guys,

So this is my first post and since my guidance counselor has proven to be inept at life I have a question about how UC Reciprocity works. I'm a declared English major about to start my sophomore year at UCI. I'm almost done with all my general education requirements, I just have to finish my upper division writing requirement, some math and science, and that's about it. To be eligible to start taking my English classes junior year (if I plan on staying which I don't want to do unless I don't get in anywhere) I have to take my upper division writing classes and all the GEs such as math, science, social science, international studies, foreign language, etc.

Basically, I want to know if all the classes I have taken thus far that I have taken to satisfy my General Education requirements will transfer automatically to UC Berkeley so that if I start my junior year there, I can start taking my major classes. In general, how does UC Reciprocity work? I'm bloody confused...

Thanks.

Also, do I have to worry about taking classes that match the classes up at Berkeley or does UC reciprocity 100% guarantee that?

If you finish your UCI GEs, then you are done with UCB GEs.
