UCI Supplement

Good morning. I'm confused. I just got a supplement request from Irvine. Should I be worried if I'm borderline. I got one from Berkeley and thought that if I was borderline at Berkeley, I'd be in at Irvine.

Are you a first year student or a transfer? How and when did you receive this supplement? I have not received anything, yet. If you don’t mind me asking what are your stats.

I’m a first year applicant with a
3.7 UC gpa
3.65 uw gpa
Act= 33 m, 30 r, 29 s, 28 e. composite is 30
Math 2=800
Ush=770

Amazing extra curtics. Hardship. My school sends about 25 people to la and Berkeley each year.
30 to sd. A lot more to irvine

Took 13 aps in high school.
Self pulblished a prep book on kindle
Passed all but 1 ap test. Couple of 5s and 4s

I hear that their bus admin program is hard to get into

They just don’t have that many spaces for Business Admin. Be warned, out of all the schools at UCI, entering freshman to Merage have the highest average SAT and GPA…it’s quite competitive to get in. I think you should be able to get into UCI but it’s possible you might be accepted for your alternate major. Do your best with the supplement and just know you don’t have to major in Business Admin. to have a career in Business. You could also change majors later on, but that is extremely hard to do. About 10 people get accepted as a change of major.

Here’s a thread on the subject:

Got one from UCI but not from UCB or UCLA. If I’m borderline at UCI then I don’t even know about UCB and LA. (anyone have an idea on what this could mean?)

First Year:
UC GPA (capped) ~3.8X
UC GPA (uncapped) ~ 4.0
SAT: 2340 single score
M2: 800
EC: Pretty cool!

I have no idea why I’m borderline but if I have to guess its because of my GPA. Anyway, I’ll still try on the supplement. :/

When do supplements stop coming out? I really hope I get it so I have a chance for irvine! Does it come in mail or by email?
3.67 uc gpa and 1980 sat/29act

I heard they stop coming out by mid february and they notify you by email i think. I wonder if I’ll get one (4.2 GPA and 1850 SAT (low))

it seems like they’re considering you guys for scholarships! a 33 ACT & 2340 SAT + good GPAs pretty much makes you a shoo-in. Hmm strange haha

Has anyone new received these, since they are now posting admission decisions.
@dingdongbell I think these supplements are asking for more personal information for the students with GENERALLY low or average stats that are on the borderline edge of being admitted. If I dont get one, am I accepted or denied because of my bad SAT

A supplemental does mean you’re borderline. I don’t think you should worry too much about it though. Make sure to fill out it (I got one and filled it out, while one of my friends got one and didn’t fill it out. I was accepted into UCI, and she wasn’t). You shouldn’t be discouraged though – one of my friends was accepted into UCB, but rejected from UCI.

@uchopeful, I meant for UCI and for just those two students, since some decisions are already out and they seem more than qualified. Either way, good luck to all of you who applied!!

Oh, and do you mind sharing what the questions are about? I didn’t apply to UCI, but I’m curious :)

What do you know. I didn’t fill out the supplement (wasn’t due yet) and got accepted + invited into honors.

I just got one from UCI this morning. It’s weird because I got on from UCLA in the beginning of the month.

when do they stop sending in suppelements

I hope I get a supplement! I got one for UCLA so I thought I might get one for UCI too…

So, my two essays I submitted each had 800 -1000 words… They never told me a limit, so I told them EVERYTHING…

Major:
CS/CE and EE

UC GPA: 3.25

ACT: 32
E:30
M:34
R:32
S:30

Math lvl 2: 680
Physics: 750

wow… the gpa is low but a good act!

3.47 UC GPA
2110 SAT I
700 Math Level II
730 Biology (M)

Die-hard extracurriculars (960 hours community service, 1600 Intern hours, and lots more)
Pretty darn good essays

Applied to Electrical Engineering (1st choice) and Undeclared (2nd choice)… no supplement. Should I be worried?

bumppp!!!
