I know supplementals were given to freshman applicants for a variety of reasons, borderline stats, hardships, etc. I didn’t get a supplemental to uci, but i got one to ucsd. My stats are 2070 SAT score, 800 sat 2 math, 3.7-3.8 weighted uc sophomore/junior year, 4.3 junior year gpa, 5 weighted classes junior year, 3 weighted classes senior year, pretty good personal statement essays. If any of you guys got any of the UCI supplemental, could you comment with which one you got and your stats(sat score, uc gpa, # of ap classes, subject test scores, etc)
I received a supplementa request from UCI in January asking for first semester grades, an essay about a special talent, and an essay about any hardships (but I don’t know the reason for my getting a supplement specifically). 2340 SAT, 4.2 UC GPA, 1 ap sophomore year, 5 ap’s junior year, 4 senior year solid personal statements and ec’s.
Got one mid-February. Mine had the special talent and hardship prompts. I had a 1940 SAT and 3.0 UC GPA. Also 5 APs total sophomore through senior year, decent extracurriculars with a few officer positions, and well-written and original personal statements. I’m also low income and first generation, as well as a National Hispanic Scholar. Main reason my GPA was as low as it was was because of a junior year hardship (hence why I got the hardship prompt), and I won a “Most Improved GPA” award last semester, so I suppose that’s what they wanted to know more about.
I still haven’t gotten a decision yet.
