According to UCI TAG site, it says "TAG Applicants: any two courses required for the major need to be completed with required grades by the summer prior to the TAG submission period" for Computer Science major .

Does this mean I just need to complete two pre-reqs in order to successfully TAG Computer Science major?

"TAG Applicants: any two courses required for the major need to be completed with required grades by the summer prior to the TAG submission period" for Computer Science major .

As you can see in the bold, it says you must complete ANY two courses required for the computer science major need before summer prior to the TAG submission period. The summer PRIOR to TAG submission period. If you do not complete this then you will not be qualified for UCI TAG, but you can still be eligible for regular admission.

Ok, here is what catches me off guard. the regular admission requires you to finish all of your pre-reqs, but TAG only requires you to finish at least two?? Isn’t that a bit too low?? I mean what could be the reason for the difference?

^^Regular admissions require you to finish your pre-req before the summer of your transfer. For example, if you are transferring into UCI in Fall 2012 without TAG and as a regular admission then you need to complete your pre-requisite before Summer 2012 – in other words finish everything by Spring 2012. If you did TAG, that means – in order to qualify for TAG – you need to complete at least 2 major pre-requisite for CS BEFORE Fall 2011 before TAG is open. After you submit your TAG then you are required to finish the rest of your major pre-requisite by the end of Spring 2012.

So, here it is in cliffs:
1.)Regular transfer admissions → finish everything + pre-requisite by Spring 2012
2.) TAG transfer → Finish 2 major pre-requisite before Fall 2011 → Qualify for TAG → Finish everything + pre-requisite by Spring 2012
