<p>Hi i am a business major and tagged to UCI under business econ because business administration was not offered for tag. if i still want to be admitted under business administration should i put that as my first major and leave business econ as my alternate major even though i did tag for it. i plan to use business econ as my backup if i do not get in under business administration. would business econ still be guaranteed even though i leave it as my alternate major?</p>
<p>Lol, in doing that I see you assumed that the UCs are generous and lenient. Let me tell you that they’re generally not, as others on this board with past experience like Grimes99 can attest. </p>
<p>Based on what I know, your TAG agreement will be void if you select a different major on your UC Application, even if the major is in the same department (i.e. business) of the school you’re applying TAG with. In all honesty though I would call UCI up [(949) 824-6703] and ask them about your situation – who knows, they may favor you and allow you to still be admitted under Business Econ in the event that you are not awarded your first choice of Business Administration. <p>Definitely call UCI and ask though… and prepare to get the run around. I too am under the impression that you have to list your TAG major as your primary major, but I’m not entirely sure.</p>

<p>I would just apply business econ unless you have a perfect record. The chances are pretty slim of getting into the program. I recommend just doing business econ + the accounting minor. Accounting is the only thing really worth studying at the business school and there are a lot of finance related courses offered by the econ department. However getting into the accounting minor is not an easy task either. The average GPA of accepted is 3.8. The decision is up to you though. If you think you can make it in then go for it. You should ask around for those who applied to biz admin and still accepted into bizecon.</p>
