UCI Take English Classes at PCC Instead?

Is it possible to take English classes at CC so that I do not have to take them at UCI? The UCI general catalog states that UCI students "enrolled at UCI may take only UCI courses in satisfaction of the UC Entry Level Writing requirement. Continuing UCI students may not take summer courses at another institution to satisfy this requirement." but I do not understand the full meaning. Thanks!

do you mean to fulfill uci’s writing requirement? if you’re enrolled at uci you have to take the writing classes at uci.

I want to take classes at PCC instead of the UCI’s Writing 39B course.

That is what I wanted to do too, but at ELAC. Haha… but I didn’t want to waste my last summer being in summer school :(

Or call the admission’s office at UCI and they’ll tell you

from the 08-09 catalogue:

Students enrolled at UCI may take only UCI courses in satisfaction
of the lower-division and upper-division writing requirements.
Continuing UCI students may not take summer courses at another
institution to satisfy lower-division or upper-division writing
requirements.

Jennifer is right. Requried writing classes (including the writing 39 series) may only be taken at UCI, not at a community college and not at another UC.
