I've just finished my first year at UCI as a Biological Sciences major, and to be honest, I am not enjoying myself in either the major or the school.
I like biology, but studying pure science is a little boring to me. I want something a little more interdisciplinary. I'm also open to the idea of completely changing majors and studying humanities, but the difficulty of it is that I've just taken all these science classes and will not have room in my schedule to take my required science courses for the Bio Sci major at UCI on top of transfer courses for a completely new humanities major. And UCI is not a good fit for me at all.

I'm considering transferring to another UC, LA or SD being my top choices. I also like Berkeley, because it is closer to home - however, I think it's a little beyond my reach, especially with the added fact that it frowns upon UC to UC transfers.

I have taken all the required transfer courses for the Human Biology and Society (BA) transfer major at UCLA, as well as for the Human Development (BA) major at UCSD.
As for Berkeley, I'm still flirting with the idea of applying - if I do, it will be under the Nutritional Sciences major.

My largest concern is my GPA. I did above average for a first year student under the UC system- I have a 3.2. After this coming quarter, I believe I can bring it up to about a 3.35. I'm not sure if this is good enough for those schools or those majors. I've taken a look at the averages at UCLA, and it looks like the average is about a 3.49. As for UCSD, I cannot find the average GPA.
It's undoubtedly harder to get better grades at a UC vs a CC (the data for GPA averages include ALL transfer students, ~90% of which are coming from CCs) so I'm wondering if admissions will take this into consideration, and if I stand a chance. If not, if anyone could give me alternative majors or advices, that would be great. Thank you in advance!
