UCI Transfer 2013 Decisions

@ricky What emails have they been sending?! I haven’t gotten any type of e-mails besides the town and gown scholarship…

For those of you who already submitted your SLR, on the bottom of your admissionsapplication page is the “Submit State of Legal Residence (SLR)” button still visible/the same? I submitted mine…but I’m paranoid because it’s still there, whereas the SIR button changed to “Submit SIR Change” :expressionless: The SLR receipt is just your “basic info” all over again, right? Ugh I’m torturing myself…

this particular email is from my college but its from uci to go to a uci celebration thing, but before i constantly got emails from the office of admissions just like last year about random crap it was kind of messed up

Just a heads up guys, I got accepted to UCI last weds and I checked my “transfer conditions” that day and they were pretty general. I checked again today and they had changed, and more “personalized.” So make sure to look out for that!

Thanks for the update, my transfers conditions have changed as well.

@fkhan0 Hey. Sorry for not responding earlier.
Yeah, I did get accepted. My stats are somewhere on this thread. Don’t know which page.

Annnnnddddd another week commences!

Is anyone here 100% for sure is going to UC Irvine this fall? I am not 100% because I have been having second thoughts.

^ I’m not sure either because my top choices, UCLA and Berkeley, have not answer me yet. But I have been to UCI for their honors presentation seminar. It is a very beautiful school. I am tempted to just SIR and go there. But I shall wait to make this very important decision. lol

100% sure, I like Chinese people and morning traffic on the 405

UCB and UCLA aren’t necessarily my top choices. If I get into both, the decision will likely be between UCI and UCLA; even then I’m not sure what to pick.

Sent from my SGH-T999 using CC

I’m 100% going to UCI. It’s the only school I applied to and I did TAG. So definitely going ahaha

I too am waiting for Berkeley and UCLA
but I think Id choose UCI just because I LOVE the school and its a nice area to live in! Although if I get into UCLA idk if I could turn it down :/

I just want a decision hahaha

@ evelynn I am in the same boat. I have spoke with numerous people that have attended both UCLA and UCI, and the surprising common denominator is that they enjoyed UCI more. A good friend of mine is also a graduate student/professor at UCI and he gave me a few ins and outs on the campus. If I am accepted to UCLA, it will be a tough choice between the two because UCLA has always been my “dream school”. However, I do not in any way shape or form consider UCI a “compromise” or “step down”. It is a great campus and a great place to study. I would say I am about 70-30 right now on SIRing (if I dont get an offer from UCLA the decision will obviously be made for me).

@UCBoundVet yes, same here. i have friends that go to both and the ones at UCI seem to be doing better AND enjoying their experiences more. I also HAVE to go to grad school so I feel that going to UCI I can maintain a higher GPA. but who knows! cant wait till this friday for UCLA DECISIONS!! (yes If I dont get into UCLA either, the decision will be easily made haha)

@ Evelynn I also have to go to grad school. We are in very similar situations (I am guessing by your name you are pursing law school as well). I dont know how much “easier” maintaining a high GPA is at UCI over UCLA, but I get what you are saying. For now everything is on hold until 1) See the FA package offered by UCI 2) See if there is even a decision to make.

My girlfriend graduated from UCLA, but she is now applying to UCI for a 2nd bachelors degree. She said if she had to do it all over again, she would have gone to UCI (took a summer class there).

And don’t underestimate UCI. There is a competitive nature there so your GPA will remain more or less the same. I’ve always wanted to go to UCLA, but in the end, UCI was my choice and have no regrets about it.

@UCBoundVet haha no law is my last name. Im doing psych and social behavior to go into grad school for Occupational Therapy. yes true that! goodluck to you!! I wish UCI would put up financial aid award already
