UCI Transfer 2013 Decisions

@evelynninlaw

Most likely those days. I haven’t heard anyone who’s gotten accepted aside from those days yet. I just hope I don’t get it by the end of the month because I’m still waiting on another school as well.

yea im going to check Wednesday but after that i’ll just wait for an email but assume i didnt get in so if i do itl be a nice suprise ^.^

As far as financial aid goes, my status now says my financial aid will be available within the next ten days. Before it said it’ll be available in mid-april. So that kinda puts a cap on the wait.
Does everyone else’s say that too?

@fkhan0 did you check under my aid award?

cause mine says

Your financial aid award is not available. Please check My Aid Application Status to make sure your file is complete and no additional documents have been requested or returned to you. You will receive notification from us once your award information is available.

My financial aid still says mid-April… :frowning: Hope that doesn’t mean anything bad!

My financial aid status says mid-April as well. Maybe that applies to those who’ve already been admitted maybe?

@anadela yea that’s what i was thinking too…! Ugh this wait is horrendous. UCI is my top choice and I’d be completely devastated if I don’t get in :(…

@fuzzyducky22 yeah me too. I’m done checking my portal until Wednesday or Friday, lol. The anticipating is frustrating me. Lets hope the odds will be in our favor once new batches are released!

@anadela I really hope so!! I’m just discouraged because I was so sure I was going to get into UCI as a freshman… and this feeling is just all too familiar :(

@evelynnnlaw,

yes, under the “My Aid Award” tab it says:

Your financial aid award is currently being reviewed. Your updated award should be available within the next ten days. If it has been more than ten days, please contact our office at (949) 824-8262.

Sorry guys! I was just curious; didn’t mean to dash anyone’s spirits! For what it counts, I think financial aid is separate from admission though; maybe they review financial aid in batches too. Best of luck anadela & ducky! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

@UCdrone
I am a bit older than everyone else, too.

ugh hopefully tomorrow or Friday… I seriously am getting so sad… UCI is like my dream school…and I keep checking every hour. and nothing. If i dont hear back this week, I just need to stop checking until the email comes :(

Any Comp Sci majors hear back yet?

My financial aid status says mid-April too and I tagged. :/

This is senior year of high school all over again. :frowning: do they send out their rejections all on the same day?

Just got a message saying that my UCI financial aid information is available. Hope this helps those who are waiting on aid to make a decision.

Just for all of you who are wondering about when financial aid awards will be announced, I received my financial aid offer today (I have not yet submitted my SIR). Hope this helps!

I got my financial aid info too. Unfortunately no grants, only loans. But I guess I expected that since my dad makes a decent amount of money and they are supporting me.

I got my financial aid packet too. I think they were actually quite generous with their grants, but I don’t have any other UCs to compare it to. Looks like my total grant aid is $20,384.

I’m kind of curious about work study though. I work full time already and they are offering me $1,500 of work study. Assuming I could make time for another job, how is this a benefit? I would get a job on campus until I make $1,500 and then they would let me go? I’m just confused.

fkhan0 - I was wondering the same thing about the work study. I was offered the same amount as you in grants (plus an additional $1500 in work study and $7500 in loans). However, because I will be commuting from home, I will not be living on campus, so I will not be accepting the work study or loan offers, simply because I don’t need it to cover tuition, books, study fees, etc (all expenses minus the expected room & board is just under $20,000). I also thought that their grant offer was quite generous.
