UCI Transfer 2013 Decisions

Has anybody been rejected that had all their prereqs? I feel that they are keeping people waiting that have all their classes done but deciding who to reject and who to keep on the waitlist.

Accepted yesterday!
Major: Economics
GPA: 3.67
Tag: No

And, anyone knows how to minor in accounting?

@caliduder, why do you think that?
I don’t have all the reqs done for my first choice major, Biology. My alternate major is Chemistry, and I do have all the requirements for that, so I’m hoping for Chemistry at least. I’m still pending though :/

Was everyone who was admitted able to see their financial package beforehand? Haven’t been admitted but its the end of April and there’s no financial aid package so I’m a bit worried.

ADMITTED :D

GPA: 3.45
Major: Psychology
prerequisites: all of them
TAG: no transferring from UCSC

I have a strong upward trend! Consistently got a higher GPA each quarter and last grades submitted was all A’s!

I have noticed people were getting rejected right away from the first batch and it seemed to be all people who didn’t have all of their requirements. However I haven’t seen anybody get rejected for a few weeks now.

@caliduder Yea I heard that Irvine kinda picks a handful of admissions to work on at the time and them release them so there’s going to be acceptances and denials… but i haven’t seen anyone get rejected recently either.

IF I happen to get rejected, do you think it’s worth it to go through an appeal process? I failed two GE classes in the summer because of the death of a family member, and I have had a strong upward trend. (3.9 and 3.8 for the past two quarters, but my avg is still 3.53). I REALLY want to get into UCI… (I’m a UC-UC)

@fuzzyducky22 I think it’s worth it to go through the appeal process if you really want to transfer to UCI. You have a reason for failing those classes and regardless of those issues you still have an upward trending GPA. I’d accept you! + I’m a uc-uc transfer, have roughly the same GPA as you, & failed two GEs as well (but I pass/failed them and got NC) so if I can get in you can get in. good luck!

Honestly it probably has to do more with the fact that most people that spend lots of time on this site take a lot of care in where they are going. So they are probably all at worst “borderline” candidates. Then of course there is the fact that a lot of folks probably do not take the time to come back and let everyone know they were rejected.

UCBoundVet: I’ll make sure to come back and report my rejection(s). I’m being realistic since my pre-req’s are not complete for engineering. :-/

When do you guys think the next batch will be released?

lol i have every pre-req and AA in my alt major (still same pre reqs and criminology so its basically the same) and igetc but i dont think it matters since they dont seem to care about pre reqs

@ineedadegree, I’m thinking maybe next week? Probably Wednesday since they seem to like releasing on Wednesday and Friday

Awe… You don’t think that they put emphasis on pre-req completion. I was thinking that would help me more especially since my gpa is pretty low. I’ve been going after completing all my pre-reqs and since I’m a uc-uc transfer, also satifying uc reciprocity.

Will you guys join the transfer success event? Is it helpful?
When and how can we schedule appointment for academic adviser?
I’m planning to move my place to Irvine, is the housing at school a good option?

Has anyone gotten their acceptance letters for today?

i got a request for my winter grades two days ago

Nothing yet? :/

Nada. Zippo. Zilch.

I got in around 9 AM on 4/18
