@Bayareaxfer Its no problem! just didn’t want to get any hopes up if it could be wrong but I think you are right. they wouldn’t send that to someone that they were thinking they would accept. if you got one they are probably already thinking about taking you.

@kingblue Yeah I go to CRC but I had my IGETC done last year so I don’t go on campus and just take online classes at the bare minimum haha. What about you?

@ricky - thanks =) I really hope my daughter does get into UCI - even if it’s not exactly driving distance (that’s what Skype is for, right?). But congrats on getting accepted!

@frankbot - so, I’m sorry about the bad info re @rickyseg - but I stand by what I said as far as taking it seriously. You’ve clearly not been rejected and you have an opportunity to add to what the reviewers see - that can only be a plus.

@Bayareaxfer yea I am only in tustin but i want to live the college experience i think its important in college if you can. But im sure she will get in!! I’m definitely getting a webcam to skype with family

I suspect that the financial information changed for everyone regardless of acceptance. I haven’t seen anyone post that theirs did not change.

@clamfest I do too… only taking a class there tho… I completed my IGETC last fall too but I have to be enrolled in a class prior to transfer so I’m taking a few classes at CRC and SCC…

@ricky - I think it’s great that you want the full college experience! Aside from how much easier it will be to get to school and find places to study and people to study with - there are so many activities you can get involved in and people to meet. I wish you good grades and lots of fun!

@kingblue yeah I only took one class at SCC. I hate how you gotta get different transcripts from them. Like, I took one class and I gotta go and get one all the way over there ugh. You got into UCI yet, or still waiting?

@clamfest I got in yesterday.

Getting no aid from UCI except for federal loans. Gotta start shopping around!

@ speakbraille

Here’s some advice: If you haven’t yet, join a credit union. There is one nearby, and my mom’s been with it for over 30 years. Interest rates are excellent, and they are a good bank. You only have to live, work or worship in the Irvine area to be eligible. They also offer student loans. Google Western Federal Credit Union

Also Orange County Credit Union branch inside the Albertsons off Alton + culver free checking and savings as long as your a student, low fees, also you can you use any ATM inside a 7-11 w/o fees. Tellers treat you like people and don’t try to sign you up for something EVERY single time you walk in. Have my car loan with them + direct deposit + checking + savings. I also use wells and chase for family reasons but abhor going in there. Anyways just my 2c on banking as a full time student.

I bank with Wells …mostly due to the reason I get my direct transfers deposited when I get paid. Thanks for the tips guys! Will look into that. These federal loan rates are like 8-9%!

@bayareaxfer thanks!! I’m going to try my hardest on the essays!

Hi, I have a question for the provisions for transfer for UCI acceptance. On the Provision contract it says that I am going to need to get a C in my Math 120 class and I currently have a D. I was wondering two things: if I can’t manage to get the C, could I take it again over the summer and still be admitted to UCI? And then, if not, would my admission be rescinded? Thanks.

@ucichris. I would advice you send a message to your academic counselor and find out… and if he/she says you have to get a C this spring, try your hardest and beg/plead/sob/bribe whatever! lol your way to a C

the heck why does it say this on my application:
American History Requirement: Not yet determined
American Institutions Requirement: Not yet determined
Also whats the breakdown of the students in the international house? wouldnt want that to be my first choice if most of them are speaking Portuguese hahahaha my main reason is since im a Japanese minor.

They must have to confirm that once they get your HS transcripts, that’s how you can meet the requirements, or your official transcripts.

@kingblue, how do I contact my academic counselor?

Do you guys think they’ll release another batch today? Do they release anything over the weekend?
