@clamfest i mean that i took japanese 1 during senior year of high school at my community college because i thought i was gonna go to uci as a freshman but then i didnt and i got a C then that summer i took two classes one with the worst teacher in the school so i got a C in wr 1 then my first real semester i got straight A’s and then i applied.

@silvertoungues I don’t know. I just briefly skimmed the page to see if that’s why people were accepted in March. Maybe there’s other factors like their major or maybe they were in special programs in CC? I honestly don’t know because yeah, if you had straight A’s throughout, I don’t know why they didn’t pick you.

@rickyseg I don’t know how useful Japanese will be for your major so maybe it won’t bother them. Again, even when you got C’s, you improved from that and got straight A’s. I always hear of people being in your situation and end up getting accepted because they claim it shows improvement and they say universities like that. Maybe they’ll also see it’s your second time applying to UCI so this time they accept you. Kind of like a persistence thing, ya know?

@silvertongues @clemfest If you were in the honors program for your cc (certified before transfer and maintain over 3.7 gpa), the honors transfers to UCI.

I’m not in the honors program so I guess that explains it. I was under the impression that you could be selected or offered a chance to apply for the honors program based on GPA alone.

Oh ok. Yeah I just wanted to make sure that the first people accepted, technically aren’t really part of a batch, but instead were accepted because of special conditions (honors/scholarships). Congrats to those who got it though. I guess the rest of us have to wait for april :P

I’m in the honors program at my CC and about a month ago I remember my counselor emailing me and asking if I applied to UCI. I asked if there was a TAP for them as well and she said no, she just needed to verify to them that I am in the honors program. I still haven’t received an admission decision. Maybe there are honors batches as well, lol.

@Slvertongues,
Once you have been admitted to UC Irvine, you may apply to join the CHP if you have a community college GPA of 3.5 or better. If you prefer, you may wait to apply until you have completed one quarter at UCI full time with a GPA of 3.5 or better. See [College Transfers](http://www.honors.uci.edu/prospectivetransfer.php) for further information on application and the CHP course requirements.

@premedaholic Oh ok. There might be batches for that then lol. I’m just hoping that us not hearing anything in March, by no means is a bad thing. I’d like to think EVERYONE gets accepted in April, like the countless times UCI admissions reps have told me. But people got accepted in March so of course that worries us lol

So who else got the email invitation for college week live? We should all ban together on that and be like WE ALL DEMAND ACCEPTANCE! Haha, but of course not :P

lol i got that too…

I didn’t get that e-mail!!! I mean I got it before in the past but not one today! I know it may not mean something but I want a e-mail too dammit! Lol

@yazziiie haha I’m sure you can just sign up on it on your own. I doubt it’s like an exclusive invitation lol.

Sad life I didn’t get one either… :(

Nor did I! And I tagged.

I got that email. This is actually my second term apply as a transfer. Last year I applied as a sophomore, and this year as a Junior Level transfer. I actually got that same email same time last year. I got rejected for the fall 2012 term, these emails aren’t going to tell us if were in or not! No need to stress everyone :)

@SCUCSU Did you also get the Town and Gown scholarship? (From your previous term)

Yeah it’s just college live week. It’s not really exclusive to UCI. I’m sure we got it because we participated in the last one and probably checked somewhere that we want notifications or something.

In case you guys want the info:

Dear Linette,

Join UC Irvine online on Wednesday, March 20, and Thursday, March 21, at CollegeWeekLive.com for a virtual fair, All Access Zone, between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Pacific time). The free online event will be a great opportunity for prospective students to have their questions about the admissions process, academics, student life and research opportunities answered by Admissions Counselors and current students. Also, you are welcome to participate on a video chat UC Irvine will be hosting at 2 p.m. on March 20.

So yeah ask them all your burning questions! Maybe they’re doing this before they release more decisions starting in April.

@yazziiie786 nope. I didn’t receive any scholarships emails last year. It was pretty much tease mail during the whole admissions process last year. I did receive a scholarship invite for CE students, and a message from an admissions officer this year. Some variance since last year, which I hope leads to an acceptance letter this time around

@scucsc I don’t remember if I got a email from admissions besides the one that they asked to why there was a year gap (even though I mentioned it on the application itself) Now that I didn’t get a email from admissions or in regards to the ce, im freaking out.
