UCI Transfer 2013 Decisions

@Farcen: Oh ok. Well good luck then! I didn’t get off the waitlist at UCSD last year, but other people did so I hope you can get in!
@ricky: lol like the letter was in spanish?

@clamfest the book thing had a lot of latin students. and Its so hard to decide on a theme

@ricky: assuming I get in, I would definitely stick to the international theme. I highly doubt the experience would be any different than the transfer basic theme. The international house will still have transfers and not to mention the foreign students must feel like transfers as well because it’s a whole new system to them. Since I lived in dorms at UCSC and even switched to another place, I can tell you from my own experience that it wasn’t so glamorous lol. Maybe it’s because we were freshmen and there were always those that thought they were so cool for smoking pot and partying I dunno. My two cents is just that you’ll probably get the same anywhere, but at least at the international theme, if the domestic transfers/undergrads get annoying, at least you have the different perspective of the foreign students, especially if they come from different continents. But hey that’s just me! Just pick what feels most comfortable.

i want to do both really bad but if i got a japanese room mate id be pretty down it would be less appealing otherwise haha

@ricky: well it would be pretty tough to get that randomly, unless you e-mail them and specifically request it and see what they can do about it. Guess you should pick the other one just to be safe.

@clamfest, I’m thinking of asking the chances of that.

Hey, does anyone know how academic advising works? Will they email us to schedule appointments?

So, I got this DVD from UCI in the mail.
Did anyone else get one?

@kb4692 yeah i got one from the school of social sciences. Is that the acceptance packet?? I watched a couple seconds of it and turned it off… lol

@kayvuvu Yep. It’s from the School of Social Sciences. I didn’t watch it either. I find college intro movies really unnecessary, to be honest.

I didn’t get a DVD. But what I assume was my acceptance packet only contained a letter saying I was accepted and a list of what I need to do to (SIR, SLR, housing app).

^^ I got my acceptance letter (just the letter, nothing else) weeks ago.
I only just got the DVD today.
Keep an eye on your mailbox. It could come sometime this week.

I feel like I’ll end up watching the DVD to avoid homework. Anything of actual use in the packet?

No, it was just the DVD.
I still haven’t watched the whole thing yet. Haha.
I already know a lot about the campus, because I did a LOT of research and going through the site before applying.

Hey does anyone here know which dorms or apartments are really close to UCI engineering building?

any one considering Camino Del Sol?

@brown, middle Earth is very close to the engineering buildings.

I didn’t get no admission packet yet! =[ Though, I did get a letter for the Chancellors Excellence Scholarship today. Who do I contact for the admissions packet?

Middle earth is only for freshman I believe

For those who received the DVD did you get already SIR?

I got a Chicano packet in the mail lol. I wonder what they’re trying to tell me? haha
