@Firstgenstudent My source was UCI.

Ok. I have to jump in here. I’m a parent and UCI grad my daughter will be a freshman @ UCI and her older brother is still pending as a transfer. The wait is stressful enough without collegedropout1,. @ collegedropout1,: I have hired and managed professionals most of my career , if you worked for me, today would have been your last day. Your negativity at the expense of others emotions not acceptable outside academia, that said, I’d hire Drew or justadude in a heartbeat based on their persistence and optimism . Just sayin

@drew26 @CollegeDropout1 called again this time it was a guy and he said a fair amount of applicants have gotten their decisions. They are releasing on a rolling basis.

@CollegedadUCI87 YOU’RE MEAN! There is a difference between being negative, and realistic. I am being realistic

@CollegedadUCI87 theres honestly no reason to stress. Everyone has an equal chance at this point, its all random. Someone at UCLA last year got in with a 3.2 in an impacted major. So I mean anything is possible!

@collegedropout1 didn’t you get accepted with a regent scholarship? Why are you here

@CollegeDropout1 define realistic? I hope you know theres no set standard on someone being accepted, its pretty damn random. Differences between a 3.4 3.5 3.7 3.9 sometimes does not matter. Personal statements can over power judgement as well EC. Even an upward trend of grades. They also look at any situation you stated.

@collegedropout1, I’m not being mean just realistic … Lol. But seriously, sometimes it pays to keep your opinions to yourself and In the workplace I fire the people who deliberately stir up s&&t, they are not worth the problems they create

Lol it’s funny, how I’ve spoken to many over the phone over at UCI and even counselors and not one told me what @CollegeDropout1 said. I find it hilarious. We just gotta wait and hope for the best!

@CollegeDropout1 nope! Not there. Someone i met in my CC

well at this point s/he succeeded. I was pretty much one foot in the grave with the other on a banana peel when it came to UCI. I’m done worrying about it. My GPA is terrible comparatively and I don’t have much working for me. It’s whatever. Absolutely gorgeous school and surrounding area with newport just down the way. To all of you who got in, I tip my hat and hope ya’ll enjoy. Take care all.

@justadude91cs Please, dont lose your hope till the last minutes!

It seems though that different admissions people and reps say different things. Same thing happened with UCLA. It could be both are saying different things. Either way its better not to assume things, and don’t lose hope until you get the actual admittance/rejection. This speculation does not help anyone.

Also this is a freaking online college form not the workplace lol I don’t see how that has anything to do with…anything. Like saying you would fire someone if they worked for you does not add to this discussion at all.

Anyways! I have a good feeling that at midnight a lot of us will get acceptances

Good luck everyone!

Positive vibes to everyone!!!

@collegedropout1 invoked reality as a way of explaining why we should all just accept our likely failure in being accepted to UCI and @collegedadUCI87 responded in the same vein. Not only was it an instructive exercise that added to the discussion, it was hilarious.

Reality is a harsh mistress.

I think we can agree we are all a bit upset and on the edge with how slow the decisions are coming out. Let’s all just agree to respect or ignore opinions whether they make sense or not. Many will get accepted (I applied last year, I have seen the flood of acceptances on the 25th and the smaller batch on the 30th), but many will get waitlisted or rejected as well (I was rejected lol)… Either way, arguing about it won’t change our admissions decision or speed up the process. I hope we all hear some good news and quickly! Hang in there everyone. We’re almost there!

oops… I meant MAY in my previous post… can’t edit the post anymore.

Again, my friend’s roommate got accepted in May for UCI Fall '13 when April 30th was the supposedly the last day for transfer notifications.

I got waitlisted!!

@drew26 hopefully you get in. Congrats.

What for?

Are they sending emails or we have to check our accounts?
