What the Hell, I don’t have that option @jsdnnl

@drew26

I can do: Login > Message Center > Compose New Message > Pick a Category > Post message.

Here is the link to compose a message: "https://services.admissions.uci.edu:8443/cgi-bin/myadmission.cgi?action=msgmenu"

There is another way to send a message. Once you login, click “Message Center”. There should be a “send us a message!” on the bottom of the left Common Question column, and then you go from there. If that does not work, then I don’t know. Haha. I guess contact the admissions when you get the chance. Good luck!

Oh crap it was at. The top haha thanks bro! Goodluck to both of us, I opted in on the waitlist and sired to ucr @jsdnnl

I immediately signed the Statement of Intent to Participate (SIP) and I’m honestly okay with making it this far. At least it wasn’t a flat-out rejection, and I still have some kind of a chance. :)

Ps. Make sure you guys check your MyAdmissions pages, because I didn’t get an email about this and just found out now at about 2:30am on 4/25

I didn’t get that email lol, and how do people with lower gpa get in and people with 3.6 get waitlisted? Makes no sense

GPA: 3.0

So I just got waitlisted and was pretty happy since it isn’t a straight out denial, however, after reading this thread is getting waitlist not really anything to be excited about? In high school I dreamed of going to UCI but I wasn’t accepted nor offered waitlist. Now being a transfer student is a waitlist the same thing as a denial? I like the idea of have some chance of getting in…

It’s been a couple of weeks since I got the notice, but I was accepted. I don’t think I’ll go to Irvine, given some of the other schools I’ve been accepted to. But who knows? I have other schools to hear from, and that’ll likely sway my decision on whether or not. Depends on the cash.

Just thought here - For those of you who were accepted to UCI - but have no intention of going there - notify them today so some of these people on the waitlist have a chance? ( I know it’s hard to let it go - My Daughter had 11 offers and still has 3 she hasn’t killed off even though she has already SIR’d her top choice) So take 5 minutes and make room for some of the people here who really want to be @UCI

GPA isn’t everything. You could be a self-centered evil pr!ck with a 4.0, or you could be thoughtful and an inspirational person with a 3.0. UCI (and this is what I heard) looks at everything: your scores, your coursework and coursework load, your EC, your personal essays.

@moniiique
You answered your own question. Being waitlisted is far better than being rejected. You got your foot in the door. It’s better than having the door slam in your face.

Be strong, people. I see some of you thinking you’re going to be rejected, because there are others who say they got accepted. It’s like you guys are already giving up. *Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

P.S. Go watch Kevin Hart or something. I suggest you guys relax and laugh.

Morning all! I was driving myself crazy last night trying to confirm that UCI only admits about 20 transfer students into the business administration major. I couldn’t find anything official online and I was thinking it might just be an urban legend. I wanted to know because a) knowing that only a very few got in helps me manage my grief and b) it’s a useful data point on my Berkeley chances. So, I called and spoke with a very nice lady in the undergraduate business program and she did confirm that they generally have only 15-20 transfer spots.

@bravozuluhello that is not true!!! http://www.oir.uci.edu/files/adm/IA20-fall-transfers-select-yield-by-school.pdf?R=335127
Last year they offered 109+spots for acceptances. The year before they offered 300+

@bravozuluhello i have heard this multiple times from people and this is just a myth!!!

@lkm291 That is interesting. Maybe those numbers include all four of the majors in the department?

@lkm291 , maybe the person means that only that 30 people end up choosing to go there? Which UC takes the most transfers? Cuz that is a lot!

@lkm291 @ccnube

Sorry, there are four programs (business admin, business info management, accounting minor, management minor) but only two majors.

UCI Decision: Still Pending

Rejected: UCSB, UCSC
Accepted: SDSU
Waitlisted: UCSD

Still waiting on a decision, if I don’t get in I think I will definitely appeal. I have seen plenty of people on here with the same, if not lower GPA and got acceptance. I have taken almost all of the prereq’s offered at my school. The only classes I don’t have are stats and a programming class that hasn’t been offered since I’ve been at CC. I did take Calc 3, Discrete and linear though so I thought that would help. I thought I would be more competitive being a returning student vet but we shall see. Keeping fingers crossed.

@ccnube I supposed they are referring to #of people chose to attend. Look at the %, 6.1%is definitely not a lot. Interesting that the % differ so much from year to year

Waitlisted for Business Economics!
