UCI Transfer 2014 decisions

Rejected
3.35ish
Quantitative economics
All prereqs done, high major gpa
Igetc
Good personal statement

Honestly a little surprised since people with low gpas got in.

Rejected.

Major : informatics

GPA 2.7 so not surprised :stuck_out_tongue:

I had a slight hope that my strong upward trend might do the trick (3.9 gpa over the last 1.5 years, 40 units ) but not this time. Oh well, wasn’t gonna go anyways, was just one of many schools that I applied to.

Good luck to everyone!

Just got the rejection notice. I am really surprised. I have seen so many people with lower GPA’s get in. I really don’t have any classes left to take so it is either appeal or settle for SDSU and pray for UCSD wait list. Good luck people.

UC GPA: 3.48
Intended Major: Computer Science
TAG?: No
IGETC?: Done by the end of this semester
Applied: UCSD, UCSB, UCSC, UCI, SDSU
Rejected: UCSB, UCSC, UCI
Accepted: SDSU
Waitlisted: UCSD

I am still pending… What is going on… Maybe they’re still going out throughout the day…

@justadude91cs, don’t be bummed at all, for majors like comp sci or software engineering it doesn’t really matter where you go for undergrad as long as it’s a “normal” school, (any csu for ex) as long as you learn the material and the science. Just do really well wherever you will go and enjoy some nice job offers at the end of your studies :)

So for everyone that didn’t get into UCI, where are you guys planning on going instead ? CSUN for me

UC Davis or Santa Barbara if San Diego doesn’t accept me off the waitlist

Nice, both are great schools!

Rejection for me. I expected it, but I’m glad I at least got accepted to one school.

UCI Decision: Rejected
GPA: 3.6
Intended Major: Drama
TAG?: No
IGETC?: 2 courses left
Applied: UCI, UCD, UCR,UCLA
Rejected: UCI,UCLA
Accepted: UCD,UCR

Was a lower division transfer, not really surprised just a little disappointed. UCI was my first choice. Guess i’ll be attending UCD in the fall! :)

Does anyone know if UCI have a separate housing for transfer students like UCSD?!
And do they offer singles too?

Singles as in a room for a single person, right?

Vista Del Campo Norte and Camino del Sol both have those.

http://vistadelcamponorteliving.com/floorplans</a>
http://caminodelsolliving.com/floorplans</a></p>

I still don’t understand how all these people got rejected? Even I got waitlisted with a much lower gpa. And I Know its not about low or high gpa but c’mon! I know a lot of our personal statements were good, and high enough gpa, much higher than those who were accepted with a 3.0!? Sorry to all those who got rejected, it’s actually really surprising and I feel like there were some major errors in evaluations.

@k4201505: thanks, looks better than UCSD’s housing!!
Is any of them for transfer students ONLY?! Or they are for freshmen too?

All departments are not equal. If you are in a more competitive major, you will probably have to have a more competitive GPA, ECs, paper, etc. And I frankly think it’s cool UCI took people from different backgrounds and not the same people with the same statements and same GPAs. It promotes diversity and encourages people who think and learn differently. Just my two cents. Congrats to everyone who got in. For those of you still waiting, don’t let stats discourage you and try to appeal if you have grounds for it.

Rejected
GPA: 3.782
Intended Major: Bioengineering
Rejected: UCB,UCLA,UCI
Accepted: UCD,UCSD

None of them are for transfers only. The majority of freshman that aren’t commuting/living at home will be dorming in Mesa Court and Middle Earth so you’ll be with other transfer and continuing students.

http://housing.uci.edu/housingOptions/Where_Can_I_Live.html</a></p>

But to be honest, us transfer students only get 3 options so it’s not a whole bunch compared to the continuing students. Arroyo Vista is more like a dorm-like atmosphere, from what I know.

Rejected.

GPA: 3.2
Major: Biomedical Engineering

Daughter just got financial aid package so they are rolling out now.

@k4201505:
Aaaah I see…There are really many different housings available for UCI students…And from the pictures, virtual tours etc. ,they look much better than other UCs (been in UCLA and UCSD).
Is it usually easy to get single bedrooms with bathrooms? or they just give it to certain people?

Congrats everyone who got in. And @librazebra , it is strange you were rejected, but got into ucsd, well, go tritons for you man! How much loans did y’all get? What is an average amount for loans at UCs? The regents things doesn’t seem to help…seems like they just took away another scholarship in order to add it. It appears this is the best aid package for me. I won’t be needing to work that much, and I will have the least loans of all the UCs I applied to.
