Has anyone got an unofficial aid package yet?

Are there any History majors who have heard back?

Anyone know how strict UCI is on the completion of Calculus 2? I’m a business admin major, and I have Calculus 1 and Business Calculus complete but not Calc. 2. I’ve always thought UCI was strict on completing Calculus 1 and 2, but someone posted here that they aren’t strict on the Calculus series.

"Preference for admission will be given to Junior-level
applicants with the highest grades overall (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0) who
satisfactorily complete lower-division courses equivalent to the following:
- Calculus (MATH 2A - 2B),
- Economics (ECON 20A - 20B),
- Statistics (MGMT 7), and
- Accounting (MGMT 30A, 30B)

MGMT 1 may be completed at UCI.

Admission to the major will be competitive due to limited space availability."

What this means is that, although they certainly wont disqualify you for not having Calc 2 completed, it puts you at a disadvantage to those who have completed it. That being said, theres a lot more that goes into a decision than just a lack of one major prep course

@Freetofly112 what about a cs major with the same situation ? I’ve completed two levels of math but not calc 2. I’ve finished all my cs courses though

Any idea when the next batch might be?

UCI is possibly one of the hardest business schools to get accepted into. They only started offering an undergrad business program a few years ago. The new business building is still under construction and so they lack space for additional students; as a result it’s incredibly impacted. On a side-note, the program itself isn’t that great, the class selection is poor.

I know one person who got into the program last year. He was UCSC engineering drop-out (for financial reasons) who completed Calc 1-3 + LA/DE at UCSC and was currently a CC transfer.

"Junior-level applicants who satisfactorily complete course requirements will be
given preference for admission.

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
- one year of approved college-level math
preferably calculus courses equivalent to UCI’s MATH 2A - MATH 2B, or
two semester courses equivalent to other major-related math courses are
acceptable, and - one year of transferable computer science courses*
at least one course must involve concepts such as those found in Java,
Python, Scheme, C++, or other object-oriented or high-level programming
language"

So, it looks like, although they’d prefer it if you had done Calc 2, if you have another //approved// math related to your major, you should be fine.

How does uci notify applicants of regents? I got notified by ucla today, but I am really falling in love with irvine =)

Regents have already been notified for UCI

Guys, when do a majority of applicants get notified? I haven’t heard back yet.

I find that so weird…

people say this or next week we will hear - first 2 weeks of april. They may take longer tho since ucla/UCB may come out first week

If they do what they did last year, we should be getting a big batch coming out this week, probably on Friday or so.

Have any bio majors heard back. Regents or not.

@ccnube why do you say that?

Okay, the first week of April is coming up! Decisions, please be released! (Or moreso acceptances)

My bet is the first batch comes out April 4th.

Pretty sure (based on 2013’s thread) UCI and UCSD first REGULAR batch of decisions will be out this Friday.

What do you mean by regular batch? UCSD already had a batch come out…
