UCI transfer rate/acceptance

Hi this is my first semester at a community college and i plan on transferring to UCI in Fall 2014. I was wondering what the transfer rate/ how many people UCI accepts for the Business Administration major. This major does not have a tag because of how impacted it is. If anyone knows the facts please leave it in the comment below! Thank you!

Not sure how many were accepted, but people usually had a 3.5+ GPA. Make sure you have other UCs as backups though.

i checked assist.org, and the only school that satisfies all the classes for Business admin in UCI is UCLA but the same classes are only for business economics because UCLA doesnt offer BA major. so if i dont get in UCI, then…i die…

Well other than UCI, you could look into Economics and Accounting hybrid majors offered at UCLA, UCD, UCSB, UCSC. All of these schools, other than UCSC, also offer Accounting minors. These schools may not be your top choice, but they could be back-ups in case you don’t get into UCI.

The only other UC school with pure BA major is Riverside.

USC also has one, but their admissions requirements are different and they evaluate you differently.

I have a friend who got into UCI as a Freshman (Econ Major). In order for her to get into the Business Admin major, she had to apply, and she got in (she has a 4.0).

UCLA is the only UC (I think) that releases transfer admit stats by major. The admit rate is 16.52% with a 3.93 average GPA among admitted students.

I got accepted as a transfer student for this upcoming fall. At orientation, I believe they said in the previous year that they accepted around 115 applicants in which exactly 20 enrolled.

The average admitted gpa at UCI’s business administration is lower than Berkeley, UCLA, USC, but i’m sure that will change very soon. I’m believe UCI’s average gpa in the near future would shift to be around 3.75+ because of how competitive all other UC’s are. As students with a 3.75 gpa get rejected from those schools above and other competitive schools, they would most likely look to UCI as an alternative.

Unfortunately, it’s a new undergraduate program. But that should not discourage applicants because UCI is a very reputable UC with many local and nearby corporations recruiting from Business Admin/Econ majors.

At the end of the day, to be accepted in a UC in a competitive major is a great accomplishment. Just remember Business Admin, Econ, and Biz Econ are ridiculously competitive at Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCI; more so than other UCs(opinion).

You can get in UCR’s business administration with 3.0+ with TAG and probably 3.3+ for regular admission. From what I have heard, UCR’s business administration does make some noise in the world, and It is getting harder year by year to get in.

Actually UCI has pretty good business administration program, most of the teacher who teach undergraduate is also teach grads, so you will pretty much have a good chance to get a good teacher. Even though UCI business administration is new, but it is good enough, they choose a lot of top student. some of student got 3.95 when they transfer. but i got admission to the UCI business administration with 3.80, so most likely you will have to have 3.70+ GPA to have a chance to get into UCI business administration. also there are so many big firms, such as quiksilver, big 4, boeing around here look for business student. even though it is not as good as UC berkeley, but pretty much it is a good chance to go into UCI. you will love the city of irvine too, it is so pretty. and i had heard that they only select 150 students. so not easy, but hopefully you can get in here.
