UCI Transfer Waitlist 2013

Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.35
Pre-reqs: should be done by summer

Come on guys!!!

International Studies
3.2 gpa
1 pre-req missing by summer 2013! Hope I get in. Was waitlisted to both sd and irvine. Going to slo(business major) as an alternative if I dont get in!

hope we all get in!!!

I applied for Computer Science and Engineering but currently am a computer science major. 3.6 GPA as of right now and wait listed (out of state/international student attending a 4-year university).

I’m not really sure what the pre-reqs are but I have covered english and am currently in Calc 2 and Physics 2 if that means anything haha.

I believe one year of calculus, one year of physics, one year of programming courses, one differential equation, one linear algebra, one multivariable calculus, one logic design, and one discrete math are needed before transfer. these might not be all, you can find more details on the uc website under “major preparation paths”. Hope this helps.

@mrfan001, I don’t think that recommended means required. I’m pretty sure additional requirements is what is most important. So basically the minimum for CS would be that you need at least a year of calculus, a year of programming, and the rest just strengthen your chances of getting in.

You are right man
which university are you transfer from?

Any thing on transfer students?

nothing yet :(((

@mrfan001 I read that there was less than 400 transfer students on the waiting list which means we have a high percentage of being admitted lets just be optimistic and have hope

@a21rod for real?! where did you see that? Ya that sounds good!

@mrfan001 Yea check it I dont know the credibility but seems legit [Ms. Sun’s UC Admissions Blog](http://askmssun.livejournal.com/)

Nvm its for ucd I miss read it

@a21rod lol but i still agree with you that there are not too many waitlisters for uci this year…

Ms.Sun says there’s about 1500 waitlisters. I wonder how many of those 1500 opted in. Wish it was 400. Haha. Did any of you send in your transcripts in by June 1st? Or heard anything?

I dropped off my transcripts on like may 25 or something. Turns out you dont even need to turn in official transcripts to opt into the waitlist. They only need official if you’re admitted. Just thought that was interesting…

@RolledUp Yeah I messaged admissions so many times and they wouldn’t give me a clear answer. I asked them if it was imperative that the transcripts come in by June 1st. All I heard was maybes. Also asked if it needed to be official. Again, no clear answer. Wasted so much money sending them official transcripts.

I called admissions last week to see if they received all of my transcripts and they received all but two. They said they would not be inputting the transcripts for waitlisted students.

@socal916 Yeah they told me that finally as well. Rather weird that they require us to send in transcripts by June 1st (in the waitlist provision) but not update whether they received it or not. I was getting stressed over that but I finally got the confirmation that they have my transcripts. I don’t really see it is a good sign for waitlisters if they don’t really care if we sent them transcripts or not. I’m hoping I’m wrong.

@nikname

Yeah, didnt even have to turn in high school transcripts for waitlist participation. (which i didnt) Damn i hope we get in. Looks like that SD waitlist thread blew up last night
