UCI, Uconn, Northeastern, UMD College Park, Alabama....etc??

About to start my senior year this fall, and I’m majoring in nursing. I’m not totally against transferring or applying to nursing programs as a sophomore, but I need help and constructive criticism. What are my chances getting into these schools nursing programs if I live in Connecticut? Here’s some of my stats & involvements: (oh and I’m a female)
-top 25% in class

  • capt. of lax team
  • Academic All- Regional Lax Team
  • Basically all honors classes throughout high school
  • 2 AP classes junior year with A’s
  • 2 Senior year (stat and psych)
  • Straight A’s Junior year
  • Average score on 1600 SAT, but just took them again after prep class and feel very confident
  • 3.9 gpa
    -elementary school volunteer tutor
  • President of SADD club
  • raised thousands $ for Autism Awareness, Wounded Warrior, my city’s prevention council, Breast Cancer
    – Any suggestion schools please comment!! Also if you’re in any of the schools listed above or similar ones, please say how you like, difficulty/stress levels, pros/cons!

I can’t quite give you a clear-cut analysis until I actually see an SAT score…what is an “average” SAT score?

about 1100, feeling much more confident about the second time I took them, but haven’t received my scores back yet.

Since UCI Nursing is a direct admit program with around a 5% acceptance rate, you would need a competitive SAT score of at least 1300+ for a decent chance.

As an OOS applicant, can you afford the $55K/year costs with no FA?

An 1100 SAT would make Northeastern out of reach.

UCI is very competitive for nursing. I think you need at least a 1400 SAT + 4.1 UC GPA to stand a chance. Try to get at least a 1400 SAT to be a competitive applicant.

@callahanolivia Have you considered University of San Francisco, Univ. of Delaware, and Arizona State University? I think you would get into those schools for nursing.
