<p>I have been accepted to both schools but I don't know anything about either one.
What are the pros/cons of the schools?

<p>for engineering, SLO is one of the best in the nation so if you are going for engineering, I would recommend SLO. For me, I would choose UCI for other types of majors other than engineering.</p>
<p>I'm not in engineering. I applied under biological science. :)</p>
<p>If its not Engineering, Slo's got nothing on the UC's. Irvive is a great school.</p>
<p>I second UCI for bio and humanities. Some of the humanities majors are ranked higher than UCLA and UCB.</p>
<p>Thanks, any comments on social life? I've been hearing that it's not much. Any other opinions?</p>
<p>It's what you make of it. If you put yourself out there you'll have a great time. I joined a fraternity first quarter and there's ALWAYS something going on. You can also join clubs and stuff like that. You'll find the majority of people complaining about the social life are the same people who don't do anything besides go to class and go home on the weekends.</p>
