UCI vs CSULB, another pre-med thread

I'm an upcoming freshman for fall 2009 and I'm having a difficult time making a decision of where to attend.

Here's my comparison between both:

CSULB pros:
- I'm accepted as a pre-nursing major
- Cheaper
- " Higher priority when transferring to a UC school "

CSULB cons:
- Farther [ I'm still dependent of my parents/older siblings when it comes to traveling ]

UCI pros:
- Known to have one of the 'best' pre-med faculties/classes
- Closer
- " Lots of extracurricular activities "

UCI cons:
- Hella expensive
- Rejected by their nursing school so currently undeclared [ thinking of taking bio sci as undergrad major ]

As you can tell, my ideas and perspective are very narrow. Right now, all I want is a school that would help me prepare better for my BSN/NCLEX/MCAT/Etc. I'm willing to work hard (and spend hard) but I don't want my efforts to go ka-plunk.

Halp pliz? ;(

Anyone? :(

CSULB has a great nursing school.

Campus is pretty.

CSULB will be a good choice.

I'm not clear on your objectives. Are you targeting nursing, or doctoring? If nursing, CSULB is fine. Nobody asks where you trained.

If medical school is your objective, understand that the MCAT is very good at separating the top 0.5% or 1% from everyone else. Are you usually top 1% in standardized testing proficiency? If not, you may need to reassess where to best focus your limited time and resources.

UCI if u wanna do research

CSULB

is awesome too

best CSU in Cali
