I heard UC Irvine is in a community with old people. One reason I didn't go there.

having lived in Irvine for the past 18 years of my life, Irvine is a pretty calm place, virtually without any major events and gatherings. It makes it kind of boring if you're into the huge party scene because there really aren't any big clubs or a downtown to go to. That being said, it's located pretty close to a lot of places like Disneyland, the beach, downtown LA, San Diego if you so choose, etc. It's not a bad place at all, but I suspect it'll be quieter than other campuses. Which is why I'm going to Davis hahaha.

Oh ya be prepared for lots of asian people, it's not called the University of Chinese Immigrants or University of Civics and Integras for nothing hahah

My friend lived in Cali for most of her life, she says UC-Davis is the best UC...but she hates So Cal, so that knocks off a lot of them...LOL. Anyways she says UC-Irvine is "boring" and I've heard people call it a commuter campus...but you don't know till you visit. People told me for years UVa was a "prep haven" and W&M was nerdy; I thought W&M would be a better fit...but I found out I loved UVa and the people there when I visited.

UCI and UCD are both boring. Apply to UCSB instead.

Strykur --- I'm just trying to add another match school.
Right now my list is like this:

UMiami/UCSB

UCLA

UCSD

SDSU

Cal Poly

Well I decided on adding UCI to that number 7 spot. I just like the beach and weather too much.

That's good reasoning.

UCD!!!! trust me you don't wanna go to irvine. Academically, Davis is slightly better and the social scene at davis is much much better. Irvine is a ****ing commuter school. so unless you wanna walk around on a more or less empty campus on the weekends go to davis. BTW...i agree completely with the poster that said to apply to UCSB. It's known as a party school (which is definately is!!) but it has very very strong academics and the location is beautiful

I know Davis sounds better than Irvine, but I just can't get past location. But I may make an exception for davis.
Do you think I should apply to Ucd and Uci or Ucd and cal poly.

I will probably be a business major.

if ur going for business administration, then i believe (not 100% sure) that only a limited amount of UC campuses offer this major. I know berkeley and Riverside do, and Irvine might. be sure to research which ones have biz admin before applying
