Hello Community Members !
I am looking for some inputs and insights for applied maths pogram at UCI/UCLA/UCB. My son is admitted and considering applied math at either UCI or UCLA or UCB for an undergrad program. While programs at UCLA, UCI or UCB are considered strong and comprehensive, there are differences in the specific offerings and opportunities available to students. Looking to gather the details, Any inputs and insights are appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
Here are some of the factors we are looking -
-
Concentrations available:
a. UCI - Finance, Data Science emphasis ( along with 6 others)
b. UCLA - Computation, Data Theory and Applied Science ( along with 9 others) but it
seems it is parallel along with applied Maths, so may not be combined
c. UCB - Cluster options with 3 clusers -
Curriculum and Faculty
-
Internship and Job Opps
-
Resources
a. UCLA is a larger school, it probably can offer more resources. -
Aid/Assistance - TA or other opportunities on campus
-
Other factors ?
a. e.g. Social and sports aspect is much more appealing at UCLA
Thanks again !
