Graduate Bio program ranking UCI=34th, UCSB=58th
Aw man I’m in dilemma between UCI and UCSB. I got admitted to both as Undeclared major, and plan to pursue Biology/Bioengineering(Undergraduate). Should I listen to the Ranking? Campus wise, I liked UCSB better. Another factor is UCI has lot more Korean Population which is what I am. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :D

If you like UCSB more, you should go there.

Don’t decide on an undergraduate program on the basis of graduate school rankings.

I’ll preface this by saying I’m going to ucsb.

gourman ranks UCI 27 and SB 29 for undergrad bio. When an employer/grad school looks at those rankings they will see that they are not top 25 and are top 30. There is basically no difference in terms of prestige there. Its about where you think you will do better. Wherever you go you will be living for four years. If you like UCSB more go there. If you want to be surrounded by people of your own race, go to UCI.

I dont think UCI and UCSB are that close in the rankings of their biology programs

UCSB has a good reputation in certain areas but biology isnt one of them.
