UCI vs UCSB vs UCR vs UCSD

Hi guys!

I’m currently a high school senior, I haven’t heard back from all my colleges except UCR. I plan to major in global/international studies although I am open to changes. If I do change I know it will be a major where II help people or the environment. If I change, it would be a major relating to the medical field, political science or the environment. Money is a huge issue for me as I may have to pay my tuition in full. I am also a conscious consumer and a vegan, so I wanted to have a better idea what schools may fit me personally.

I want to go to a school with a great social and academic setting. If I were to change majors, I want to know that the UC is also reputable for those majors. I want it to be somewhat affordable and that the city has a lot to offer!

Not sure why you are posting this now since applications are in and decisions are being posted. If affordability is an issue, then it should have been a consideration when making your college list last Fall. UCR is known to pretty generous so what kind of FA did you receive and much to you need? Are you eligible for Cal grants/ Pell grants? Where did you apply? Possible to take a Gap year?

If money is an issue, why did you go the route of UCs and not the CSUs? How will you work to pay your costs?

Except for UCR, you picked universities in very expensive living locations.

You didn’t apply to Davis which seems to fulfill and fit your wants and needs.
