UCI vs. UCSC vs. CSULB Computer Science

Well I got into UC Irvine, Santa Cruz and CSU Long Beach and am planning on majoring in
Computer Science. From what I've heard UC schools are more theoretical in teaching as
compared to CSU's practical and I would like to get a job in the industry out of college.

What are the pros and cons of these schools regarding Computer Science or the school in general?

welll,,i will choose UCI just boz of the reputation...but i think u should narrow down ur list to just UCSC or UCI,,,boz i have never heard of CSU long beach,,
just my option....

this is your answer:

CSU's practical and I would like to get a job in the industry out of college.

CSULB is a good public school.

CSULB is known for film, desn, social science, and engineering majors.

^ and CSULB also for Music

bryoliath! when did you hear about your acceptance?! and what was your GPA and sat scores?

i'm STILL waiting on CSULB to send out acceptance letters! ****. they take so damn long. do you live nearby there or something?

oh i was referring to acceptance to CSULB

UCI has an excellent Comp Sci program. Of the three, this is a no-brainer (assuming money is no object).

UCI, I agree its a no brainer unless money is a factor.

UCI is great for Comp Science.

Well I didn't get into UCI so it's between UCSC and CSULB and i'm leaning towards CSULB because location is more practical and they have a food science major which I would love to minor in. Also if I do decide to change majors Long Beach has more to offer than UCSC.

And julia_lai i heard awhile back from CSULB but I believe they do their applications on a rolling basis because my friend hasn't heard from them either. My GPA was 3.77 Sat: 2010

Thanks for all the input.

OH IS IT, CAUSE I AM IN DILEMMA OF GOING TO CSULB OR UCI. WHERE IS COMPUTER SCIENCE MORE TOUGH ?
