Hey cc, before the deadline for commitment comes, I wanted to ask a quick comparison of the two universities I'm debating between. I'll be posting this on both forums so feel free for bias. Going in as Undecided but thinking of engineering right now.
UCSD - Pros - Great school, new engineering buildings, prestige and better academics
Cons- San Diego as a city not so many things to do compared to Irvine/Orange county area?
- Class rigor harder than that of UCI's? (Planning to transfer so grades do matter)
UCI - Pros - Nice campus, located in Irvine so many things to do around the place, easier classes, and lesser cost of living
Cons - I've heard the social scene is mainly existent in fraternities and sororities is it true? Not much prestige as a great school, smaller campus?
Any other details would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Was accepted to both and 5 other universities, choosing Irvine.

UCSD has the same social scene as UCI, just saying. Both school pretty much contain the social scene in the greek like. UCI is actually a huge campus and is gaining prestige every year. Therefore, your degree will be worth more as you are in this school. The engineering school may not be new, but lets be real, its amazing! I don’t know how hard UCSB grades, but I know that it is very competitive between the sciences and Im sure engineering classes are above par. Good luck with your decision.

and @CaliEconTransfer - good choice ;)
