<p>Those who are on the waitlist but don’t intend on going to UCI should definitely retract their SIP, that way those of us who really want it can have a somewhat better chance. I know it sounds desperate, but I’ve honestly never wanted anything like I want to go to UCI… I’m going to be really disappointed if they kept me waiting just to not use it… But such is the waitlist life. Should have tried harder in High School I guess</p>

I don’t think it’s possible to retract your SIP at this point. After all they did say that your decision was finalized on April 15th, right? (My mind is fuzzy on the details.) Anyway, good luck. I’m sure whatever happens everything will be okay. :)</p>

<p>Ms. Sun is a UC admissions expert who has been guiding students to the top UCs since 2006. She received her BA from Berkeley, she was in a PhD program at UCLA, and she received her college counseling certification from UCSD Extension. </p>
<p>Aside from advising students, she volunteers with Berkeley and UCLA on admissions outreach (she attends college fairs to promote the schools). She also volunteers at events sponsored by the Southern California alumni groups from both campuses, including alumni scholarship interviews.</p>
<p>You may contact her for help on planning your academic curriculum, choosing extracurricular activities, writing your personal statement, or applying for scholarships.</p>

<p>I am a bit confused, I thought UCI said that they’ll tell us by June 15th, would they tell let us know if the waitlisted people get in right on 5/15?</p>
<p>@uaeone June 15th is for transfer student and May 15th is for waitlisted prospective freshmen</p>
<p>yup, many of us here are freshmen applicants to UCI. If they had changed the deadline to a whole month after, I’d be pulling my hair out.</p>

<p>Was rejected as well – no surprise there, considering the circumstances and the high amount of SIRs. Glad they finally let us know, though.</p>
