<p>So a week after the admission decision deadline, UCI decides to put me on a waitlist. What does that really mean? If I SIR to another school, will it automatically void my spot on the waitlist? I would wait til June 15 to hear their final admission decisions but I also have other deadlines for my backup schools.</p>

<p>on my app. they say clearly to keep in mind of other schools deadlines, therefor they are basically telling us to take responsibility. so… yeah to sir to an other school or wait for them and possibly risk losing admissions to the other schools is our choice. This year with all the budget cuts have been real bs, I’m choosing to go to a cal state to complete my degree.</p>

<p>Im doing my SIR for UCSB before June 1st, but if get accepted to UCI i will change my decision since UCI is also my first choice!</p>
<p>Downside is losing money, but i although it would hurt to lose the money, attending UCI would be worth it for me!</p>

<p>I think I’m going to do the same and SIR for UCSD then if I get into UCI, just withdraw it. Its just weird cause I applied to UCI with a TAG for Public Health Policy and they still put me on the waitlist.</p>

<p>yah i read on the threads that they are not respecting the TAGs for some people thats so weird…but i thnk ima call on monday to admissions to see wht are my chances…or all the waitlisters chances if they dont want to be too specific…</p>

<p>I’m on the waitlist also. I think they will admit you according to your major. My major at UCI is Literary Journalism. I’m praying that this opportunity is in the cards, because I’ve read on other forums that the waitlist may not even be touched this year due to the stupid budget cuts.</p>
<p>A few weeks ago, I called them and asked about the waitlisting process for transfers. It’s new, but they aren’t expecting that many from the waitlist to be accepted. Basically, as much as it sucks, I was told when I called to treat it as a rejection in terms of relations with other schools. Act as if you’ll be going to the alternate school. If you get lucky and get into UCI, then a pleasant surprise came your way.</p>
<p>Also, if you have a TAG but were waitlisted, call and ask if it was voided somehow, because they do make mistakes. Remember, though, if you didn’t complete all the classes that you agreed to, you aren’t eligible for the agreement.</p>

If I appeal, would I be reconsidered AFTER those who are on the waiting list? Does anyone know? Any help would be greatly appreciated.</p>
<p>The UCs came under fire last year for admitting students on appeal before pulling students off the waitlist, so it’s possible that the campuses will be looking at waitlists before the appeals. But you never know.</p>
<p>Ms. Sun you’re on this website! :O!!! I talked with the admissions guy and he said they “over accepted” and wasn’t expecting alot or any off the waitlist. Is this true.</p>
