UCI waitlist?!

I got wait listed too… and I am really hoping to get in!!! argh. Did you guys send in the SIP? Because when I sent mine in, it sent me back an email saying

A separate confirmation e-mail will be sent this evening to confirm that
your SIP transmission has been successful.

…But they didnt send me that second confirmation email yet…and I sent my SIP yesterday at like 5:00 am!

I think they just tell you on the portal that you are on the waitlist. They never sent me an e-mail either.

Hm, okay! yeah it sucks because SLO is my only other choice… and their SIR is due May 1st, where UCI will tell me if I make it or not by May 15th. =/ so confused whether to wait or not. I would hate spending the SIR fee for SLO and then figuring out I made it to irvine, then having to pay the SIR fee for irvine too.

Yeah, I wish i knew like what rank I was on the wait list or something.

ok i got waitlisted too… and from UC Davis too! >.< I don’t understand how the whole process works. Is there anything wrong with accepting to go onto the waitlist of both of them? Do I have to pay something if they both accept me and then I decide to go to one of them rather than the other? Please explain ASAP! thanks

Yeah; the mailman just came and I got my rejection… that’s why the post is gone. I honestly don’t even know why I applied… wouldn’t have gone there even if I got in!

^ wrong thread; sorry

i have a quick question. does everybody get a chance to get on the wait list? or is it for certain applicants

I think people who are waitlisted are who they want but may not have enough space for. I got waitlisted to Davis and San Diego too. I signed up for the waitlist for all 3 schools and I don’t think it costs money to not go even if I get in off the waitlist. But my theory is that it seems like a lot of people who got into UCI (from college confidential and from my friends from my school and other schools) are the students who also got into schools like UCSD and UCLA. So obviously, they wouldn’t choose UCI and hopefully that opens up space for all us waitlisters? I’m praying… :frowning:

Does anyone know the chance of acceptance for Davis, Irvine, or San Diego waitlist? >_< I really need to get into at least one, preferably Irvine.

And does anyone know if appealing while being on the waiting list will help my chances of getting in? Thanks :/

My friend, whose mom is a data analyst, said that the chances of getting into UCI off of the waitlist are good. Unclear- I know, but it’s something. idk about SD or Davis though. SD will probably be a much lesser chance since its reputation has been heading through the skies recently

Yea uci is weird. I got waitlisted there but ended up getting into ucsd and berkeley

Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using CC App

Oh woow lucky youu!
I don’t have that luxury in choosing
UCI is my only hope!

i applied to 6 UC and got into all 6, im definitely not going to the lower tier schools like UCI, so my spot is going to one of you wait-listed people! yes your welcome!

Ohh yayy! Thank you @lovecolleges :)

Can we appeal even if we are waitlisted???

@cynavarro: I don’t think you should. I was wondering the same thing and talked to numerous people about it. They said wait until the waitlist decisions come out and if you are rejected, then appeal.

Blah, one more month to go…

Hang in there fellow waitlisters! We’ve got this!

Hey one of my friends is declining irvine to go to another UC, best of luck guys :)

Out of the many people I know who got into UCI, I only know of 4 people who are planning to get in. So hopefully there’s a chance :)
