<p>Well today I finally checked the UCI website to say that I was wait listed. Anyone else being wait listed? What are the chances of being admitted?</p>
<p>i also got waitlisted today... all this waiting and worrying to wait even more! no one besides the admissions office knows your chance because this is apparently the first time they have done the waitlisting thing. i talked to a girl who said they just review your application again. idk know how well they are going to work with the waitlist system this year because tis is their first time using it. good luck to all of you waitlisters though and if anyone has information please speak up. </p>

<p>I wasn't calling the OP out or anything. I simply stated I that I didn't know that they waitlisted people. </p>
<p>Anywho, this probably means trying to get in on appeal will be nearly impossible to Irvine. They'll likely go to the waitlist first if they even have any extra enrollment space to begin with. </p>

It must be tough after going through the long wait of seeing if your accepted, to now having to sit through another wait on the waitlist.</p>
<p>My stats are: 1810 SAT
3.8 weighted GPA (idk how to convert to UC scale)
Not a lot of EC's, no varsity sports..couple of clubs and around 100 hours volunteer work.
SAT II Biology: 710
SAT II US history: 620</p>

<p>They've always said they could waitlist you, but my counslers were not aware of other students being waitlisted at a UC (ever), so it's not common - or not reported.</p>
<p>Called UCI and they said they definitely won't make any decisions on waitlisted candidates before May 1st, so we'll HAVE to accept another offer and lose the registration fee. (~$150). And they gave very non-committal answers about chances. (We don't know how many, if any, will be accepted or how many applicants were waitlisted).</p>
<p>This is just torture as we should be able to just pick one and move on by this point.</p>
<p>Too bad - UCI was my first choice. Guess I'll accept UCD and wait to hear then make the final decision. Best of luck to the rest.</p>

b/c i chose humanities undeclared which is one of the relatively easier majors to get into...when compared to something like engineering...so do you think that you might have better chances depending on what major you chose?</p>

<p>I got waitlisted a few days ago as well. But apparently there are only 300 people on this list.... so maybe thats daunting, but for me, its better than a flat out rejection!</p>

<p>do you get waitlisted before you find out that you're rejected or can you still be waitlisted after your rejection. My counselor told me theres a chance for me to be waitlisted after my rejection. I already got rejected</p>

<p>Hi, im also on the waitlist for UCI. I don’t think u can get waitlisted after you have been rejected. I think that most of us on the waitlist have a fairly good chance of making it into UCI simply because the people to get into UCI also get into other better programs. Or they did at my school. A large majority of the students who got in UCI also got into UCLA, UCSD, or UC Berkeley and chances r, they r going to one of those schools.</p>
