This is definitely not the first time UCI has done a waitlist. They had one for '09, because my friend was on it. He had mediocre stats (3.5 UC GPA, 2010 SAT I), and was rejected by UCD, UCSB, UCLA, UCB, UCSC… but waitlisted at UCI. He was eventually accepted :D

^This is from last year.

God please let me get in and not have to go through more waiting… =/

For the people that got waitlisted, did you get an email saying there was a change in your status?

waitlisted form uci and pepperdine =/
my top choices
blahhh lol
i hate how it complicates things
cuz we dont officially know whats going on with housing and classes
its like we have the left overs n are going to have to rush with everything last minute
grrrrrr!!

Majors? Stats?

theyr not that great

sat: 1760
gpa: waited 4.01 unweighted: 3.7
EC: cross country 3 years with awards, track and field 4 years and current cocaptain, church program for 2 years, just 50 hours of community service
major: math

i hate this waiting =/

i also got waitlisted today
i’m set on waiting despite possible rejection
does anyone know what to do about housing?
i have to get a spot cuz if i dont i cant go there…
the deadline for guaranteed housing is may 1st by paying the 150
but we find out may 10th…

Someone on another thread gave me this site about last year; it gave some definite hope!

[Public university admission becomes waiting game | students, waitlist, university - News - The Orange County Register](<a href=“University admissions a waiting game – Orange County Register”>University admissions a waiting game – Orange County Register)

i also got put on the waitlist today…scary.

i’m waiting on UCSB’s admissions on monday to decide if i should get on the wait list or not.

STATS:
GPA weighted: 3.71
SAT:1810
SAT2: BIO 680 MATH 650
EC: 3 years varsity swim+water polo, 4 clubs with around 50 hours of community service

Major: Undeclared-Engineering

I thought that I’d get rejected when everyone else with crazy stats was getting rejected. When I saw the waitlist notice, I was happy, but not at the same time since I didn’t get an answer I expected. Guess the waiting game is going on till may. :/

GPA Weighted 3.8
SAT- 1890
SAT 2- 600, 540 (These are horrible)
EC- Alot of stuff
Major- Undeclared Engineering

is there any way to find out what your position is on the wait list?

I got accepted to UCLA, but waitlisted from UCI. Do things like that happen often? I can’t imagine they do.

would they tell you they accept you before May 1?

and is there anyone here who knows they won’t be going to irvine for sure?

waitlisted… and rejected from SB. pretty disappointed considering people with much lower stats got in.

i got waitlisted, and rejected from UCSD and UCLA… just waiting for Davis now… and i thought i was getting in for sure. sigh.

i have a question though… on my SIP it says my major is Business Administration… does that mean I’m waitlisted for the BusinessAdmin major? or does it just say that because it was my first choice?

How do you guys think waitlists are going to affect appeals?

ok so we have a family friend who is admitt counselor at irvine and she told us in essence the waitlist is now the unofficial version of the appeals process so basically anybody who thinks they should appeal for reconsideration will 99.99999% will be (re)rejected. theyre virtually going to ignore the appeals which kind of sucks for the not so good academic student with a good background and citizen. hope this helped alot of you guys who trying to appeal your valuable case. sorry about the bad news :)

** sorry i meant to put a sad face ^^

wait so what does this mean for waitlisters? do you kno our chances of making it in?

I wonder how the waitlist is gonna play out… super nervous T_T
