Vyruz… i had my appeal written back in march =P i dont have calc 2 done, so i was 100% sure i was rejected.

whats ur major?

Vyruz… i had my appeal written back in march =P i dont have calc 2 done, so i was 100% sure i was rejected.

whats ur major?

Im also biz econ. I called UCLA and they said i was “really close” to being admitted but my overal GPA was too low at 3.52. I had 4.0 in prereqs(all done), good essay, lots of ECs, etc.

I saw some doctors when I was 18 and thats when I had my bad gpa of 2.5 SO i got doctors letter explaining my condition. Ever since i started school again I have had a 4.0 without my medical condition I had from before. So i think im going to hammer that fact, I already got the doctor’s letters and Ill go from there.

i haven’t even gotten through to them. but i basically know all my weak points. my overall is 3.64, but my gpa for first year was 3.44 so i just explained that and why i didn’t take calc 2 (calc 1 was full when i applied, long story)

lets hope it works out for both of us!!! :-D

Just got rejected from UCI :/

Didn’t want to go there, but now it makes me a bit nervous about UCSD…

Does anyone know if UCI had TAG, I can’t remember at all

Political Science
3.0-3.2 GPA
IGETC Completed
Admitted to: UCSB, UCSC, UCD, UCR, UCM, Cal Poly Pomona
Rejected from: SDSU, UCI, UCLA

Ok never mind I see that they did have TAG, but I was missing some classes they want you to take. They seemed to have the most requirements for PS majors over any other UC. PS is also more impacted there then other schools, so I’m still staying hopeful for UCSD!

Am I talking to myself? Yea I think I’m…must be going nuts

no worries, i was denied as well for econ right now. kinda hard since UCLA just shut the door on me too.

what made me feel better is that i found out that a TON of courses required for economics at Irvine I didn’t take. Java, Anthro, etc.

Mine’s still pending hmm…
Any engineering majors that got in already?

so i just read my conditional agreement and it says i need a B or better in Calc 1.

why does that seem so hard right now? my stupid professor gave the second midterm, where there were only 4 questions, 25 points each…

im screwd…

wow that’s a harsh condition.
So it actually says, your offer remains only as long as you get a B in calc 1?

yes. if i dont then i can lose the admission =/

thats weird peppamintt. Im an engineering major, and all they want for me is just to get a C or better in my last english class when im taking other courses i would of expected them to want me to do good in. That’s crazy for calc B though. Congratulations by the way! and im still hoping you get in caltouci

What was your stats bluearrowil?

I just got in Bus Econ with at 3.4 from UC to UC

Yeah i hope you get in too CaltoUci, then we can prove that UC to UC transfers are definitely possible!

maybe i should talk to them about it? idk, its messed up. but i guess ill try hard to get a B.

sucks more for that one guy on the UCLA thread, who has to get all As in his courses =/

well to get into UCI for biz econ, you need a “B” average for all your Calc courses, and need to pass 1 econ class with a C. I remember the admissions telling me.

So its right… you DO need a B average for calc classes, and if Calc 1 is your only class, then you must get a B. Its not too hard if you study. You can do it :)

Thanks j.irvin and b0bab0i!
peppamint, if the final is worth enough, you can probably still get a B :)

peppemintt: you didn’t get accepted into UCSB for busecon?

nope i didnt.

wow im sorry. i applied to ucsb with busecon because thats the major i really want but dont have all the prereqs so didnt apply busecon to ucla, cal because i knew i wouldnt get in there. i got into ucsb pre-busecon, but i only have one prereq. (maybe its my high gpa?) how many prereqs do you have?
did you appeal? or going to?

hey durian…

i had all my prereqs done and i had a decent gpa (3.64) i just fell short of units coz 2 of my classes didnt transfer. i talked to an admissions counselor and she said if i want to appeal, i can and i’d have a high chance… but i’d have to state that i’m taking a 3 units class over the summer. so i did do that, lets see what happens =)
