Uci

alright i'm sure its been posted 100 times, but i wanna get some answers from someone that actually ATTENDS UCI. not someone who has just heard about it.

how is the party scene?
i know its not that great, but can i still get drunk and have a good time every weekend with a good amount of people?

what do you do for fun on campus?

hows the surf around the beaches near there?

do a lot of people hit up huntington beach and LA? (assume i have a car)

how are the women?

I do not attend UCI, so I can tell you the answers to none of your questions. If you post here [University of California - Irvine - College Confidential](University of California - Irvine - College Confidential Forums) however, you will encounter many current and potential UCI students who have the information you seek.

I attend uci and looove it!! u can go greek and party everyy night in newport. frats have venue parties all the time. u can find always find a party on thursday nights in some of the dorms, frats have pa’s sometimes, and newport will have parties every night of the week. usually if u go to newport, u will get ****faced lol. on the fourth of july it gets a little crazy in newport. if u don’t go greek just be social and meet a bunch of ppl ure first year, and ull get invited to parties anyway. the surf is good the beaches r really pretty, and yes ppl do visit huntington beach and la. I usually go to huntington when its really hot and i want to go to the beach.(but i usually end up going to newport beach bc its closer and its also really nice, and laguna beach is also nearby) if u surf, u most likely will love huntington (there’s like surf stuff and surfers everywhere lol). also, I know a lot of people say u have to go to la for the nightclubs, but orange county has better 18 and over clubs than la. (I’m from west l.a. so I have been to hollywood 18 and over clubs as well as orange county clubs). and im a girl so i cant rate hotness of women lol, BUT generally everyone takes really good care of their appearance since we r near the beach and cant wear bikinis if we’re fat lol. a lot of ppl work out at our school gym (the arc) so overall there’s a lot of fit ppl here. ooh random fact- kobe bryant works out at our gym.

for fun on campus, u can always go to the student center in between classes. during welcome week theres always a free concert in aldrich park, this yr we got to see the shiny toy guns(and others). we also have shocktoberfest( last yr we saw three six mafia, and this year we got shwayze and gym class heroes). I remember last yr ■■■■■ came to aldrich park. (btw all of this is free) there’s also a lot of dance teams (like kabba modern from abdc). also throughout the year the bren events center has concerts/events. for example in the summer the killers had a concert there( this u have to pay for tho) i think dj am and travis barker also had a performance there last year, and i know that there’s an upcoming concert with common and B.o.B.

i went to some basketball/voleyball/baseball/ and soceer games my first yr and they were pretty fun, but most ppl dont really care for our sports lol

i know that was a super long response but w.e. honestly, I always hear irvine is so boring this and that, but think again that those r the ppl *ing blogging. uci is a low key party school TRUST me. if u dorm ure first yr, try to get mesa court bc middle earth is where most of the nerds live at. also if u do end up getting caught by the r.a.'s and r not wearing uci gear then give a fake name. they also have a no chase policy so u can always just leave and they can’t do * unless its ure room, then ure screwed lol. good luck in college!

hahhahahahahahhaha… louloou i like your “low key” add in there… yea ive heard the same thing about it being a low key party school too. ive heard tht most of the frats/soror are like white ppl mostly and do know of any non white ppl in the greek frat/sor.?

I visited UCI b4, and tbh I don’t find the campus that appealing, it looks ordinary imo(I’ve seen almost every UC except for UCSD). The only reason why I wanted to really go there was because it was one of the 3 UCs that have a business school. I was happy I got in, but then UCSD and UCB also accepted me, so in the end I didn’t choose UCI and still contemplating UCSD or UCB :(

hahahhaa yeaa there’s a bunch of asians and persians a few hispanics and black ppl theres everything but mostly white and asian

I’m glad that loulu actually brings out the fun side of UCI that I thought it always had. Considering its location, it is nice, Disneyland, Newport Beach. People make it sound like it’s a mediocre school and they only wanna go to Cal/LA. UCI is on the list of American Association of Universities, meaning it is held to the same standards at some point as Harvard, Stanford, let alone Cal and LA. What more do those people want.
