UCLA 2023 Waitlist Thread

@lalalalala123 It was an email telling to check status.

do they admit waitlist students sporadically throughout time?

It’s not May 1 yet so I’m confused. Why they would let people off the waitlist without knowing their official enrollment numbers? Unless they are predicting a low yield…

@emwear congrats! are you oos?

I GOT IN!!! Congrats to all those who were accepted off the waitlist and good luck to those still waiting!

are you guys all OOS?

I am OOS. I hear odds are better for OOS because of tuition?

ahh okay thanks!! i am instate and still waiting

S got in today. OOS, Biology. Good luck everyone

Are there more waitlist results coming out?

@sunflxwer8 yeah I’m from the midwest (yuck)

I think the WL started from 9am as per what i heard… ppl will hear now on.

@collegemom111111 The stats seem a bit too ‘established’. I doubt its like this? For instance, i literally know no one from my school who got in both UCLA and Berkeley. Some were on one’s WL and didnt get off. There were many. Ur stats suggest that from a random sample of UC apps (who did apply there) at least 1/3 get in. Thats very weird and out-there

Just sayin’ tho. Idk where u got the no’s from @collegemom111111

But I didnt applied to UCLA for the record

Anyone have any speculation on when an in state wave might come out?

D got in from waitlist oos yesterday to Biology. Admitted regular decision to Cal. Tough choice…she loves them both. Best of luck to everyone waiting to hear!

Anyone heard back from UCLA today?

do you know that the wave yesterday was all out of state? I’m in state so I’m wondering

Also did anyone that got in submit a LOCI as well as the wait list statement? Idk if i should send a LoCI

@futurefreshmannn idk if theres such a thing. THey mostly do a random/predetermined non ranked orderwise sweep.

My kid submitted a LOCI, updated grades and mentioned a recent e c. I have a question: @10s4life: Do the kids taken off the waitlist now, 0prior to May 1 deadline, have u til then to commit? Or do they need to respond sooner? Email accepting my child had a checkbox response that asked if kid intended to SIR on May 1st or not.
