UCLA 71, Stanford 54

Now that football season is mostly over (except for the Sun Bowl game against Northwestern, but we've got that in the bag), let's talk basketball...

http://www.dailybruin.ucla.edu/news/articles.asp?id=35328

uhhh u sound so confident that we have the sun bowl in the bag LoL...we were losing by 22 points at first may i remind u.

and it was too close to comfort by the end of the fourth quarter, but it looks liek we are gonna win yay :)

UCLA 50, Northwestern 38

^^^that was a NICE comeback for ucla. they were down 22-0 at one point and i thought they were finished...i guess not. go longhorns for rosebowl....

Longhorns don't stand a chance.

I was a bit worried after that first quarter... It was the worst football I think I had seen from us all year. But the rest of the game we were absolutly in control. The final three quarters also had some of the best play I've seen all year out of our defense. Plus those two onside kick touchdowns were nice.

Anybody else torn about the Rose Bowl? I generally hate the Longhorns (no real reason why, I just don't care for them)... But rooting against them means rooting for USC, which is hard. I'll have to decide later this weekend who to pull for.

When I first turned on the game today I saw the first three interceptions and then Maurice Drew's injury and I couldn't help but think that it was going to end up like the '$C game. Thankfully the team was able to pull it together and come out ahead. Go BRUINS!

Anyway, about being torn over the Rose Bowl, I'm definitely not. I'm strongly rooting for the Longhorns not because I know anything about them, but only because they happen to be the team playing '$C on OUR home field. Does that make me a bad person? Lol.

yea the first quarter was bad for ucla.. i thought it was going to end up like the USC or Arizona game again... but luckily they had a terrible run defense and we were able to score 29 unanswered.. breazelle or however you spell his name had a couple of nice kickoff returns too

but anyway... football season is over now so GO UCLA BASKETBALL!! 11-1 now!! cal tomorrow

yay for UCLA Football!

for those who don't know, we play at notre dame next year!!! (thanks allena for reminding me) ... yup, USC, notre dame, and oregon, combined record (as of today) is 31-4.

also, does anyone know when we're playing texas? i thought i heard we we signed a contract to play them sometime soon.

anyway, it's basketball season! Go UCLA Basketball!

USC should not be anywhere near as good next year. While it looks like much of their defense is staying put it looks like, their offense is going to be going through some major changes. I think they'll be a good team next year, but nowhere near like they were this year. I'm not sure what Notre Dame or Oregon are going to look like next year.

oregon was upset by oklahoma... who we beat.. so.....

still, our schedule is tougher than if we didn't have to play oregon like we didn't have to this year. i also think oregon couldn't shake off BCS disappointment and that oklahoma got better as the season went on. o well, i'll stop complaining. this isn't the SEC haha.

They've been having a few problems with NCAA rules. A couple of weeks ago it seems that Matt Leinert broke (though it looks more like ESPN's fault) a rule and ended up being ineligible for a few days.

He said "Sports Center is next" and broke an endorsement rule or something.
