UCLA Acceptance Thread

Having completed major prep courses is EXTREMELY important, especially for competitive majors. "The more the better" is usually the rule of thumb for most of the majors...How else are they supposed to evaluate your potential to succeed in your declared major if your first year consisted of classes that are completely irrelevant?

mcaj0n, I had the same question...I called in, and they told me that I have to report any changes made, and that I have to do so at my own risk (meaning that anything CAN cost my my admission). Was this class a pre-req for other UCs you applied to?

it was actually a pre-req for ucla i already made the changes so im waiting now

I GOT INNNNNNN!!!!

Pre Political Science
3.06 GPA(HAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

IamApprehensive: Did your status just change recently? I'm wondering if they're rolling admissions today or whether they'll wait until next week to post any new information. Thanks.

I got it yesterday, Friday, around 4 or 5 PM.

mcaj0n, can you send me a PM later about what happens? I'd really appreciate it...

Congratulations to all UCLA Acceptees! Enjoy Westwood!

Just one quick question, if you guys could please help me out. Did any of you guys take a class Pass/No-Pass? Is that looked at by adcoms as a C? I'm taking an Astronomy class (not required for my major) and I might get a B. I'm planning on applying next fall. I currently have a 3.71 at Davis.

The rest of my classes, I think I'll get A's so it'll look like A, A, A, B +/-

Any help is appreciated. Thanks all. Congrats again!!

Do not worry aboout it, take it as C/ NC
I did take one of my classes for N/NC and nothing happened.; I got my UCLA admission, you'll get it too.....

I visited UCLA today and they were having some Book Fair going on. It was pretty interesting, but it would be even more appealing to english literature majors. I checked out Bunche Hall, the library across from Royce Hall, and UCLA Law. Overall, today was a very entertaining day. I also went to the UCLAstore to buy my UCLA sweatshirt! Too bad their merchandise was not on sale though...:(

^^ im not gonna spend $50 on a UCLA sweatshirt....jus gonna buy a regular tshirt I guess...

nikkei, that isn't good news now, is it. Yeah, the white tents are quite annoying - it took away from the beauty that is UCLA. And yes, Powell library is amazing. I looked around (without a clue of what I was looking at) but it was nice. Btw, is this nikkei from IVC MUN?

I was disappointed in the fact that the library was smaller than I expected. I wanted something huge like how CAL's library is. Is UCLA's library open late? 24/7? I need some place to study when times are tough i.e. finals.

IVC MUN? No, that would not be me, however I did go to IVC.

Yea, I was thinking about just getting a t-shirt since they are like $16 but I wanted to buy something that I could wear on more days than one and also the fact that I needed a new sweater anyways.

Oh, and about the 20% sale, that only applies to books and supplies.

I bough a nice UC sweatshirt for my friend in 4 month ago at Savon for just 10 bucks. Unfortunatly they don't sell them any more... or any ucla merchandise...

Did you guys already schedule yourselves for a tour?

nikkei, i was out there today too. What time were you out there.

i was at ucla today too, hooly crap i walked a lot. and there was a grip of people as well.

^ Haha. Are you guys serious? We should have met up. Chances are, we probably passed by each other. I was there from about 1:30pm - 3:00pm. How about you guys? I hear you about the walking a lot part. I ended up crashing as soon at I got back home.

I got accepted to Ucla as a Middle Eastern and North African Studies major

GPA: 3.72
IGETC: yes
units: 86 semester units (i took some classes in high school)
ECs: Hillel (vice-president), French club, established Inter-faith club, Orchestra, lots of community service, etc etc etc

I also completed all the prereqs for the major...

now i'm just waiting for Cal and UPenn...come on come on come on...

have a question... I did not have IGETC finished... but can I still do that in summer (three courses)?? will you guys recommand do IGETC? we do still have upper divison GE to take right?
