UCLA accepting more students this year?

i heard someone say it's going to be a little easier to get in this coming year because they are going to admit more students than usual. is this true, cause i hope it is.

i never heard such a thing.

personally, i hope the admissions officers cut down on the number of admits in the years to come

I always thought the UCs were overcrowded as it is

There's always that rumor going around in schools and whatnot. It's not true, at all. I believe UCLA's standards were stricter this year than ever with it's holistic evaluation, down 2% from last year.

Part of the reason is because of campus enrollment (probably < 50% of explanation).

You can target the 5th or even 6th year undergraduates.

there were 50,000 applicants this past year...absolutely ridiculous; the largest number of ANY school in the US!!! and they only took 4,000, i think. and of the 4,000 4% are OOS, AND IM ONE OF THEM....W00T, W00T!!!!!!!!!

nah, it was more like 12000 admitted

4000 would be way too little o.O

4000 OOS out of 12000 admitted is too much

yea...well, however much accepted, 4% of it were OOS

It was around 12k accepted, 4k are matriculated total

oh yeah, thats what i meant...still of the 4k, 4% are OOS, W00T!

Not that many OOS people actually apply...

IIRC, one of flopsy's annual statistics links reported a roughly equal percent of in-state admitted vs oos admitted.

oh...darn people, you just LOVE to ruin people's moments huh?
