lame lame lame lame lame

why lame???

Cause it’s most likely going to be Friday.

Think about the pattern from last year. URSA FA Summary started showing up 4/16, decisions came out 4/23. URSA FA Summary started showing up 4/17 this year, so decisions on 4/24 would be a week apart just like last year.

FA summaries did NOT start showing up on the 17th. I saw mine on the 15th and others have said that they saw theirs even before that.

physicsfem, 17th came out for letters and science. what department are you from?

Yeah, I should have clarified my comment. I meant when FA summary started to show up for L&S majors. Engineering, Arts and Architecture, and Theater all showed up a few days earlier than L&S.

It does not make sense for UCLA to download all the FAFSA info from the US Department of Education’s system (the website where we all submited our FAFSA’s to) for the 40,000 students that have been rejected. On URSA it shows that my FA info has been downloaded on 4/17/09! They wait all the way till the end so they get the FAFSA info ONLY for students that have been accepted. From 4/17 till the day decisions come out, Financial Aid Office will process all the applications and create whats called an ePAL (electronic Provisional Award Letter). I was told by the FA office that ePALs will be ready on Friday, the same day the decisions are comming out. In the mean time, the admissions office will create SIRs and provisional contracts for all the accepted students. And finally, when all the above is done, the registerer’s office will post the decisions on the decision site.

farbod, do you know why some students URSA were updated with the FA summary and some weren’t? also, do you think it’s possible to not see anything on ursa but still be accepted when decisions come out?

wat are ur stats iwantogo2ucla?

Nijikon5,

When did the three columns convert to two columns last year in URSA? When should it be predicted this year?

For me, the financial aid summary leak can’t help me predict because I never applied for aid.

@iwant2go2ucla: it is possible not to see anything on URSA and still be accepted due to glitches on the system. They might have not recieved your FAFSA or you might have mistyped your social secutiry somewhere because they do everything by ur social. From my research, the registerer’s /admissions office tells the financial aid office who has been accepted (4/17 for L&S Studnets) and the financial aid office downloads their info from the US Dept. of Education’s system. However, if there is no info available to download for the social security# u gave UCLA, there will be no FA summary on URSA for you.

im positive i provided the correct SS #. and all my others schools received my fafsa. So if i’m not seeing anything in my FA summary are my chances pretty slim?

I<3Cougars:
I believe it happened the same morning as decisions, that’s what it seemed like from posts last year.

iwant2go2ucla:
There were applicants who did not see FA or SIR info for the first wave, they were still accepted for later waves though.

^^
As other threads have said, last year there were people who didn’t see their summary and still got accepted at UCLA. Chill.

@iwant2go2ucla:
you still have a good chance. you are probably part of the second batch of decisions because they cant do it all at once.

here is another clarafication on Financial Aid. Please correct me if you think im wrong.

there are 3 parts to financial aid:

View eFAN and Financial Aid Awards on MyFAO
this is eFAN which is equivilant to ePAL only that
you can only see it if you have SIR done

View Financial Aid Awards and Summary on URSA
everyone can see this even if fafsa not processed.
this just tells you how much you need, etc. based on FAFSA
but if you dont have FAFSA done, it still shows up and says Incomplete
for the status

View Financial View Financial Aid Document Tracking
this is the main part, it shows that your FA is downloaded which means you
are in!!

come one UCLA!!! BE A MAN and release the decisions!

people who did not submit a FAFSA cannot see ANY Financial Aid info…not incomplete or anything. It simply says “no request”

It’s not that I’m trying to give false hope but…

Why can’t decisions be released tomorrow? I hear people assuming that myUCLA must be updated one day prior to decisions being released, and thus decisions won’t be available till at least Friday; but I must ask why is this true? How can we assume beyond a doubt it’s true simply because it was true last year?

Furthermore, how can we assume beyond a doubt that because FA Summary for L&S appeared one week before decisions last year, the same is true for this year?

If our consensus on the decision date is founded upon what happened last year. Why can’t we assume that the first wave of decisions will be released tomorrow, April 23rd, the same as last year?

Honestly, I say we just wait it out and stop the guessing game. But that won’t happen, and people will continue to **** bricks

ok hey you said everyone can see the amount needed…thats not true…i cant i filled out fafsa and got fin aid from ucsd… but i see
